Code Geass: Star Chaser Aspal is planned for 2027. Sunrise has released the first teaser and a new piece of artwork for the next anime in the franchise. The 33-second video gives fans their first look at its characters and setting, but does not yet explain the story.
What is in the teaser
The trailer opens on a large mechanical figure, then cuts to a forest and a character with a red eye. Archers aim their bows, a young woman appears against a bright sky, and a glowing machine moves across a dark landscape. The scenes are brief. The trailer does not name the characters or explain their relationships, so it is too early to say who they are or what the conflict will be.
The official key art shows two figures in front of a large white machine, with blue light and pink petals around them. The wide version is the image above; the vertical version is used on the anime page. Both were published by the show’s official site. The footage and artwork give a better look at the design than the short production announcement from December 2025.
Who is making the new Code Geass anime?
Kazuya Nomura is directing, Mado Nozaki is handling the series composition, and Rolua is designing the characters. The official staff list also credits Yoshi. with the Agarmata designs. Sunrise is responsible for the original work, planning and animation production. These are the main production names confirmed on the new site; voice cast details have not been announced there.
Code Geass began with Lelouch of the Rebellion in 2006 and has continued with later series and films. Star Chaser Aspal is a new project, not a re-release of the original show. The official portal posted the teaser and opened a dedicated site on September 26, 2026.
When can fans watch it?
The only release window confirmed so far is 2027. The official site does not give a month, day or streaming service. Once Sunrise announces those details, the anime page can be updated. For now, the trailer in this article is the best way to see the new footage.
