The Apothecary Diaries returns on October 2, and its new trailer gives Maomao and Jinshi more to worry about. The official series site released the second Season 3 preview on September 25. It also confirmed that Eve performs the ending theme, “AIYOU.”
The footage shows Jinshi dealing with the duties tied to his true position as the emperor’s younger brother. Maomao is pulled into the new problems around him. The official description points to a mysterious woman and a warning about a disaster threatening the country.
Where the story goes next
The trailer takes the story beyond the inner palace into the city and toward a neighboring country. That gives Maomao room to use the same sharp eye and medical knowledge fans know her for in places she has not had to investigate before. The preview also keeps Jinshi’s private feelings close to his public duties.
The official announcement does not explain the mysterious woman’s identity or the exact disaster. The trailer is showing pieces of the next story, not giving away their answers. If you have not read the novels, you can go into the season without those details spoiled.
Eve’s ending song and the release plan
“AIYOU” by Eve is the Season 3 ending song. The track can be heard in the new preview. Yorushika performs the opening theme. Season 3 begins with its first part on October 2; the second part is planned for April 2027.
Akinori Fudesaka directs the new season at OLM. Aoi Yūki returns as Maomao and Takeo Ōtsuka as Jinshi, so the two leads keep the voices viewers know from the earlier seasons.
Crunchyroll says it will stream Season 3 as the episodes air in Japan. The Japanese TV premiere is set for October 2 at 11 p.m. local time on Nippon TV. A separate theatrical film is planned for December 11, 2026; it is not an episode of this TV season.
