GTA 6 preorders are live, and the price debate is finally over. In the United States, Grand Theft Auto VI costs $79.99 for the Standard Edition and $99.99 for the Ultimate Edition. Both versions launch on November 19, 2026, for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.

Rockstar has also confirmed the preorder bonuses, the November 12 preload date, and an unusual physical release that puts a download code in the box instead of a disc. There is still no announced PC version or PC release date.

How much does GTA 6 cost?

The Standard Edition costs $79.99, which is $10 above the price many major console games have used during this generation. The Ultimate Edition costs $99.99 and adds a collection of vehicles, weapons, customization options, locations, and activities for Jason and Lucia's story.

Those are the official United States prices shown by the PlayStation Store. Regional pricing varies, so players outside the US should check the PlayStation Store, Microsoft Store, Rockstar Store, or a local retailer before buying.

The $79.99 base price is higher than the traditional $69.99 premium-game standard, but it is far below the old rumors that GTA 6 might make $100 the starting price. The $100 version exists, but it is the optional Ultimate Edition.

Standard Edition vs. Ultimate Edition

The Standard Edition includes the complete single-player game. It also includes the Vintage Vice City Pack when purchased before November 20, 2026.

The Ultimate Edition includes the game and the Ultimate Edition Upgrade. The upgrade adds exclusive vehicles, weapons, outfits, hairstyles, tattoos, customization options, shops, garages, and activities that appear across Jason and Lucia's story.

Some of the named bonuses include the '95 Grotti Cheetah, matching Hawk & Little Morgan revolvers, Jason's safehouse vehicles, the Shitzu Squalo, the '67 Vapid Dominator Buggy and Garage, and access to locations such as Rideout Customs and Stock 305.

Players do not have to spend $99.99 immediately. Rockstar says Standard Edition owners will be able to buy the Ultimate Edition Upgrade separately through the PlayStation or Microsoft storefront after their game code has been redeemed. Rockstar has not listed a separate upgrade price on its support page.

What is included with a GTA 6 preorder?

Anyone who preorders GTA 6—or buys it before November 20—receives the Vintage Vice City Pack. It contains:

  • A '55 Vapid Stanier Sedan and Garage
  • Outfits and hairstyles
  • An exclusive weapon pattern

Digital purchases also include one month of GTA+. The subscription can be used before GTA 6 launches, including its benefits for GTA Online and the GTA+ Games Library. It automatically renews at the normal monthly price after the free month unless it is canceled.

The wording is useful for anyone who does not like preordering. Rockstar says the Vintage Vice City Pack applies to purchases made before November 20, one day after launch. That gives players a short window to wait for launch-day coverage before buying without missing the pack.

Does the GTA 6 physical version include a disc?

No. The physical Standard Edition contains a digital download code inside the box, not a game disc. Rockstar expects physical copies to ship or become available for pickup on November 12 so buyers can redeem the code and preload the game.

There is no physical Ultimate Edition. Physical Standard Edition owners can buy the digital Ultimate Edition Upgrade after redeeming their code.

This setup means the box is physical, but the game license and installation are digital. Our GTA 6 physical edition guide explains what that means for ownership, resale, and collectors.

When can you preload GTA 6?

Digital preloading starts at local midnight on November 12, 2026, one week before launch. Physical buyers can also preload after receiving and redeeming their boxed download code.

The game unlocks on November 19. Rockstar has not announced a PC preload because a PC version has not been confirmed. PS4 and Xbox One versions have not been announced either.

Should you preorder GTA 6?

There is no need to rush if you are unsure. The main launch-window bonus remains available through November 19, and the Ultimate Edition Upgrade can be purchased later. Waiting gives you time to check performance reports, reviews, download size, and any final launch details.

Preordering makes more sense if you already know you want to play on day one and need the November 12 preload. The Standard Edition is the simpler choice for most players because it includes the full game. The Ultimate Edition is mainly for players who value its extra vehicles, customization, and exclusive activities.
