What kind of game is CONQ?
The official site calls CONQ an open-world extraction PvPvE game and a historical dark-fantasy MMO. PlayStation describes a shared open world. Players awaken in the Eternal Shift, an iron loop of purgatory where historical alliances have collapsed and cross-era factions compete for survival.
The extraction label suggests that entering a dangerous area, securing gains and leaving alive will matter. Athena has not yet detailed inventory loss, safe zones, seasonal resets, server regions or the exact win condition, so comparisons with other extraction games remain provisional.
How combat and army command work
CONQ mixes third-person medieval combat with real-time tactical orders. The player fights at the front while directing loyal regiments, rather than controlling the entire battle from an overhead strategy screen.
Defeating a rival commander can trigger a Coronation, the official name for an execution that breaks the opposing force. The first trailer shows close-range weapon clashes, massed infantry, fortress assaults and supernatural effects spreading across a battlefield.
Players choose a faction, but Athena has not revealed the faction roster, class system, weapon list or character-creation rules. The official copy emphasizes warriors drawn from different eras, not a historically exact conflict.
How land, siege and naval warfare connect
The campaign is designed to move between land and sea. Players can lead hundreds of troops, build or use siege engines, storm strongholds and command bone-clad fleets. The screenshots show ship-to-ship fire, a player at the helm and armies pushing through snow-covered fortresses.
PlayStation calls the transition seamless, but the studio has not explained whether every ship is player-owned, how boarding works or how many vessels can join a single encounter. The debut establishes scale, not the final limits of the simulation.
What are anomalies and dark mutations?
Anomalies are supernatural battlefield powers. Athena says players can summon undead legions, use shadow curses and attack enemy morale. They sit beside conventional weapons and regiment orders rather than replacing them.
The developer has not published a spell tree, cooldown system, faction restrictions or monetization rules for those abilities. In-game purchases are listed on both stores, but no shop contents or business model has been announced.

Steam currently publishes only a minimum tier. It requires 64-bit Windows 10, DirectX 12, broadband internet and an SSD.
