Xbox has 26 new games scheduled for September 8–11, 2026. Halloween: The Game and Mewgenics open the week on Tuesday, HOT WHEELS Infinite Rush follows Wednesday, September 10 carries 11 releases, and EA Sports NHL 27 closes the list Friday.

Xbox Wire calls this the September 7–11 release week, but its current list does not include a September 7 launch. The Royal Writ is the only game explicitly marked for Game Pass. Xbox also warns that release dates can change, so this is the official schedule as published on September 4 rather than a guarantee of exact store timing.

New Xbox Games This Week at a Glance

  • Total releases: 26 games across September 8–11.
  • Busiest day: September 10, with 11 releases.
  • Game Pass: The Royal Writ is the only title marked Game Pass in the weekly roundup.
  • Xbox Play Anywhere: The Royal Writ, HOT WHEELS Infinite Rush, Train Sim World 7, Honeycomb, SPRAWL Zero, Cats Around Us: Black Cats, BrokenLore: Don’t Lie, Deconstruction Simulator, and Dino Odyssey.
  • September 7: No game is listed for Monday.

The Five Xbox Releases to Watch First

HOT WHEELS Infinite Rush is the most immediately colorful release: an open-world racer spread across four islands, with roaming, stunts, secrets, events, and Rush Master boss challenges. Halloween: The Game is the week’s major multiplayer option, built as an asymmetrical horror sandbox where one player becomes Michael Myers and the opposing side tries to save Haddonfield.

Mewgenics brings tactical cat breeding and turn-based roguelike battles to Xbox. Our Mewgenics console guide covers its PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Switch 2 release, pricing, physical editions, and cross-save limits. The Royal Writ is the Game Pass pick, while EA Sports NHL 27 owns the sports slot with all 32 NHL arenas represented.

Which New Xbox Games Have Co-op or Multiplayer?

Dumb Ways to Build is explicitly described by Xbox as a physics-based co-op game, although the weekly post does not state the player count or whether the co-op is local, online, or both. Halloween: The Game is asymmetrical multiplayer rather than conventional co-op: one player controls Michael Myers while the opposing heroes protect residents and try to survive.

Xbox Wire does not provide a complete single-player, local multiplayer, and online multiplayer matrix for all 26 games. Check the final Xbox Store listing before buying if player count, couch co-op, or online requirements are essential to you.

For the licensed horror game, our Halloween map guide explains East Haddonfield and the other three playable locations without turning this release calendar into a duplicate guide.

Is Every Game Included With Xbox Game Pass?

No. The Royal Writ is the only game on this weekly page carrying a Game Pass label. The other 25 should not be treated as included unless Xbox updates their store pages or subscription lineup. Our September 2026 Game Pass guide tracks the broader monthly wave, additions, dates, and leaving games separately.

Xbox Play Anywhere is also not the same as Game Pass. The label means an eligible digital purchase works across Xbox console and Windows PC with shared progress where supported; it does not make the game part of the subscription.

What to Play First This Week

Choose HOT WHEELS Infinite Rush for a bright open-world racer, Halloween for asymmetrical horror, Mewgenics for deep turn-based systems, The Royal Writ for a low-risk Game Pass try, or NHL 27 for sports. The smaller releases offer an unusually broad mix of psychological horror, hidden-object mysteries, simulators, deck building, Mahjong, platforming, and logic puzzles.

If you are catching up first, see the previous Xbox release week. This page covers only the September 7–11 schedule and will be updated if Xbox changes a date, platform label, or Game Pass status.
