The new AHS marketing already shows other familiar characters returning. Sarah Paulson is back, and Disney’s official announcement names Cordelia Goode among the returning witches. Madison Montgomery and Marie Laveau are also in the season’s promotional material. For longtime viewers, Lange appearing alongside those names is the draw. The fifth role adds one detail that the trailers have not answered.

What did Lange actually confirm?

She confirmed that she wanted to return to all four earlier parts and said there is an extra mystery character. She did not identify that fifth person in the interview.
