Netflix has added six actors to Icebreaker, bringing its announced cast to eight. Auliʻi Cravalho will play Lola and Gabriel Tierney will play Aaron. The company also named Peter Berry as Robbie, Chaneil Kular as JJ, Devin Craig as Henry and Aidan Shaw as Russ.
Who are the new cast members?
Cravalho is known for voicing Moana. Netflix lists Rivals and Enola Holmes 2 among Tierney’s credits, and describes Berry as a professional athlete. Kular has appeared in Sex Education, Craig in The Sex Lives of College Girls and Shaw in We Were Liars. The announcement identifies their Icebreaker character names but gives no further character details.
The two leads remain Daisy Jelley as figure skater Anastasia “Stassie” Allen and Connor Simos as hockey player Nate Hawkins. Their teams are forced to share a rink in the college romance adapted from Hannah Grace’s novel. The image above shows the two actors’ cast introduction, not a scene from an episode.
What is still unconfirmed?
Netflix has not announced a premiere date or explained how the newly named characters fit into the screen story. It would be premature to assign them relationships or plotlines solely from the novel. The service has confirmed the series is coming to Netflix, but there is no streaming date or official U.S. age rating yet.
Jade Halley Bartlett created the adaptation. Amanda Lasher is its showrunner and writer. Both are executive producers. The new cast collage shows the performers with copies of the book; it is not a production still.
