I Am Your Beast: Quitting Time launches October 20, 2026 on Windows PC through Steam. It is a paid DLC that requires the base game and adds ten fully voiced prequel levels set in Southeast Asia. The base I Am Your Beast also reaches Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 on October 20, but Strange Scaffold has not announced a console date for the DLC itself.

That platform distinction matters. The same announcement contains two October 20 releases, but they are not identical: Quitting Time is currently listed as PC DLC, while the Switch news applies to the full base game. Players on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Switch, and Switch 2 should not assume the expansion launches on their console until Strange Scaffold posts a console DLC plan.

When is the I Am Your Beast Quitting Time release date?

Quitting Time releases Tuesday, October 20, 2026. Steam lists it as a single-player Windows expansion and says ownership of I Am Your Beast is required. The store page does not show a preorder price, launch time, bundle, or discount yet.

The original game is already available on PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, iPhone, and iPad. Its Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 versions launch on October 20 alongside the PC expansion, giving the announcement a broader console angle without confirming that Quitting Time itself is coming to those systems that day.

What does the Quitting Time DLC add?

The expansion adds ten campaign missions. Strange Scaffold describes them as fully voiced and built around the same replayable micro-sandbox structure as the base game: finish the objective, learn the map, chase optional goals, improve the route, and return for a faster or cleaner run.

Quitting Time also receives its own soundtrack by Kalibration. That is separate from the original score credited to RJ Lake, and it supports the expansion’s different location and prequel tone.

Where does Quitting Time fit in the story?

Quitting Time takes place before Alphonse Harding’s war with the Covert Operations Initiative in the base campaign. Harding is sent to Southeast Asia to help the Patriotic Defense League, or PDL, during a turbulent period in the region.

The official setup deliberately reframes the assignment: the group Harding is meant to support is described as anything but innocent. The mission therefore gives Strange Scaffold room to explore another part of his past while preserving the original game’s story for players who have not finished it.

How the new riot shield changes combat

The riot shield is the clearest mechanical addition shown so far. It can absorb pressure in the player’s hands, but it can also be thrown into enemies. That fits I Am Your Beast’s larger combat loop, where guns, knives, traps, environmental objects, movement, and stolen equipment are tools to be chained together rather than held for an entire level.

The trailer and screenshots show the shield in close-range fights, open compounds, and dense tropical paths. Strange Scaffold has not published a full move list or said whether it appears in every new mission.

What launches on Switch and Switch 2?

The base I Am Your Beast launches for Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 on October 20. The announcement does not give separate pricing, performance targets, file sizes, or upgrade details for those versions.

Strange Scaffold also has not said whether Support Group, Cold Sweat, or other previously released content will be bundled into the Nintendo versions. Xbox Wire described those two additions as included with the Xbox release in 2025, but that statement should not be projected onto Nintendo without a current Nintendo-specific confirmation.

Quitting Time PC requirements

The DLC listing repeats the base game’s modest minimum requirements and asks for 3 GB of available storage. Its legacy OS line still says 64-bit Windows 8, while Steam separately notes that the current Steam client supports Windows 10 and later. No recommended tier is published for the expansion.

  • Operating system: The listing says 64-bit Windows 8; the current Steam client requires Windows 10 or later.
  • Processor: A 2 GHz processor.
  • Memory: 4 GB RAM.
  • Graphics: Intel HD Graphics 2000.
  • Storage: 3 GB available space.

What is still unannounced?

The official pages do not yet provide the DLC price, exact October 20 unlock time, console DLC dates, a Nintendo preorder page, Switch performance targets, or confirmation that earlier expansions are included with the Nintendo release. Quitting Time should therefore be treated as confirmed for PC only until Strange Scaffold or a platform holder adds another store listing.
