Pokémon UNITE’s September 3, 2026 update goes live at 04:00 UTC. It buffs Crustle, Buzzwole, Mewtwo Y, Dodrio, Articuno, Moltres, and Alolan Ninetales; nerfs Reshiram, Yveltal, Feraligatr, Greedent, Comfey, Garchomp, and Duraludon; and fixes eight battle issues. Morpeko is featured in the update announcement, but the official notes say only that it is coming soon—not that it becomes playable the moment the patch lands.

When does the Pokémon UNITE patch go live?

The scheduled time is September 3 at 04:00 UTC. That is September 2 at 9:00 p.m. PDT and 11:00 p.m. CDT, or September 3 at midnight EDT, 5:00 a.m. BST, 6:00 a.m. CEST, and 1:00 p.m. JST. Maintenance or store approval can affect when a device actually offers the download, so restart the game and check the software version if the update is not immediately visible.

Every buff in the September 3 update

  • Crustle: Rock Tomb’s slow lasts 3 seconds instead of 2, and its Unite Move energy requirement falls from 120,000 to 110,000.
  • Buzzwole: boosted attack damage rises 12.5%, while Superpower’s cooldown drops from 8 seconds to 7.5.
  • Mewtwo Y: basic attack damage rises 10%, and Mega Mewtwo Y basic attacks rise 8%.
  • Dodrio: Jump Kick’s cooldown falls from 6.5 seconds to 6, Drill Peck damage rises 8%, and Unite Move energy falls from 120,000 to 110,000.
  • Articuno: Ice Beam’s slow rises from 30% to 40%, Unite Move damage rises 10%, and the ice goal-destruction threshold gains 1,000 points.
  • Moltres: the Defense and Special Defense scaling on its ability rises from 8% to 10%, and Unite Move damage rises 10%.
  • Alolan Ninetales: boosted attack damage rises 8%, and Avalanche damage rises 10%.

Crustle and Dodrio gain the broadest packages because each receives both a regular-move improvement and cheaper Unite Move access. Mewtwo Y and Alolan Ninetales get simpler damage increases, while Articuno and Moltres receive buffs that reinforce their existing control and team-fight roles.

Why Reshiram is the biggest loser

Reshiram takes reductions across nearly every part of its current pressure cycle. Blue Flare damage falls 10%, the boosted attack’s Unite Move cooldown reduction drops from 15% to 10%, and Unite Move damage falls 10%. The third activation is also weaker: shield strength drops from 20% to 10%, movement speed from 30% to 15%, cooldown reduction from 30% to 10%, and duration from 6 seconds to 4.

That is more than a single-number correction. Reshiram will deal less burst damage, charge its Unite Move more slowly through boosted attacks, and receive a shorter, smaller defensive and mobility payoff from the third activation. Players should expect less room to force extended fights after committing the Unite Move.

Every other nerf and cooldown increase

  • Yveltal: the per-stack ability bonus falls from 3% to 2%, and Oblivion Wing damage falls 5%.
  • Feraligatr: Waterfall’s cooldown rises from 6.5 seconds to 7.5 and its shield falls 15%; Crunch fang damage falls 10%.
  • Greedent: maximum-level Defense falls from 540 to 500, Special Defense from 460 to 420, and Unite Move energy rises from 90,000 to 100,000.
  • Comfey: Sweet Kiss’s cooldown rises from 6 seconds to 7, and its base infatuation duration falls from 0.6 seconds to 0.2; flower scaling is unchanged.
  • Garchomp: Dragon Rush’s cooldown rises from 5.5 seconds to 6, and Dragon Claw’s rises from 4 seconds to 5.
  • Duraludon: Flash Cannon’s cooldown rises from 5 seconds to 6, and Unite Move energy rises from 100,000 to 110,000.

Does Morpeko release with the September 3 patch?

The official patch page does not give Morpeko an exact playable date. It says the Pokémon is coming soon and that its Unite license will be obtainable during an event. A separate official announcement identifies Morpeko as a Speedster and places it, along with Attacker Toxtricity, in September. Until a dated event notice appears, September 3 should be treated as the balance-update date—not a guaranteed Morpeko release date.

What else begins with Drive to Victory?

The notes list a new Battle Pass season as started and Theater Style Umbreon as available. They also announce a special spectator event and say that more event details will appear inside the game. The announcement does not publish a complete reward track or event timetable, so the live Events menu remains the best place to confirm missions, reset times, and region-specific availability.

All eight bug fixes

  • Zoroark: it can no longer score while leaping during Night Slash under the affected conditions.
  • Meowth: Pay Day hits no longer add to the recent-damage gauge meant for Assurance when Assurance has not been learned.
  • Scoring: players can no longer score instantly twice in a goal zone broken by Zapdos’s Unite Move under the affected conditions.
  • Palkia: the second hit of Dragon Claw now connects with opposing Pokémon that have been thrown.
  • Glaceon: basic attacks against unseen opponents in tall grass no longer calculate damage from Attack instead of the intended stat.
  • Sirfetch’d: it can now correctly learn Fury Cutter or Leaf Blade instead of remaining on Dual Wingbeat under the affected conditions.
  • Gyarados and Mega Gyarados: they can no longer charge a goal while using their Unite Move under the affected conditions.
  • Dhelmise and Inteleon: their Steelworker and Sniper stack counters no longer display zero after the camera moves off-screen while stacks accumulate.

Several fixes apply only under specific conditions. The official notes do not publish a complete reproduction sequence for those cases, so the list above describes the confirmed behavior without inventing undocumented triggers.

What should players test first?

Crustle, Dodrio, and Mewtwo Y are the clearest first picks for players who want to feel the buffs immediately. Teams built around Reshiram should recheck damage thresholds and Unite timing, while Comfey players need to account for a longer Sweet Kiss cooldown and much shorter base control. Because the patch changes cooldowns, energy requirements, and defensive scaling—not just damage—the practical impact will depend on builds, emblems, lane assignments, and coordinated fights.
