Hogwarts Legacy 2 is no longer just the obvious sequel everyone assumed Warner Bros. would make. The company has now put it in writing.
In its August 6 shareholder letter, Warner Bros. Discovery says its expanding games pipeline includes the “second installment of Hogwarts Legacy.” That makes the follow-up official, even if Hogwarts Legacy 2 remains a convenient name rather than an announced title.
The confirmation arrived as one clause in an investor update, not a trailer. Warner Bros. has not announced a release window, platforms, story, developer, or even a final name. Fans now have proof that another game exists inside the company’s plans—and almost none of the information that normally comes with a game announcement.
Warner Bros. Confirmed the Sequel to Investors
Warner Bros. placed the sequel inside a larger explanation of its gaming strategy. The company says it is concentrating on fewer titles backed by “higher conviction,” with games expected to contribute more to the Studios division’s profits as the pipeline grows.
There is no mystery behind that confidence. Warner Bros. Games announced in December 2025 that the original Hogwarts Legacy had passed 40 million copies sold worldwide. The publisher called it the biggest video game launch in its history.
A sequel was never a difficult business prediction. The more revealing detail is that Warner Bros. now feels comfortable naming it while explaining where future growth will come from. This is no longer an executive saying that another Hogwarts game would be a priority someday. It is a specific project in the company’s pipeline.
