The worlds of Helldivers 2 and Warhammer 40,000 finally collide in Castellan's Creed, a Legendary Warbond inspired by the Cadian Kasrkin of the Astra Militarum. It arrives on August 12, 2026, with two guns, a Meltagun Stratagem, a dangerous proximity mine, two armor sets, and a full set of grim military cosmetics.

This is not a temporary shop rotation. Like other Warbonds, it remains available after release, so you can unlock it when you have enough Super Credits and work through its rewards at your own pace.

The most important restriction is easy to miss: a Premium Warbond token cannot unlock Castellan's Creed. Arrowhead classifies it as a Legendary Warbond, which uses a different price level from a regular Premium Warbond.

Castellan's Creed release date

The official Castellan's Creed announcement confirms that the Helldivers 2 x Warhammer 40,000 Legendary Warbond releases on August 12, 2026.

Arrowhead has not attached a global launch-time table to the announcement. Warbonds normally arrive through a game update, but server maintenance or a patch schedule can affect the exact moment the acquisition page becomes available. Check the in-game Warbond menu and official Helldivers channels on launch day instead of relying on an unofficial countdown.

The crossover requires the Helldivers 2 base game, an internet connection, enough Super Credits, and normal game progression to claim its rewards.

Everything included in the Warhammer 40K Warbond

Castellan's Creed includes:

  • R/40-K Hot-Shot Marksman Rifle — primary weapon
  • P/40-K Bolt Pistol — secondary weapon
  • 40-K Meltagun — Stratagem
  • G/40-K Meltamine — throwable
  • TG-8 Sharpshooter — medium armor
  • TG-122 Demo-Trooper — heavy armor
  • True Grit — armor passive on both sets
  • Camo Cloak — cape and player card
  • City Fighter's Resolve — cape and player card
  • Still Standing — player title
  • Castellan's Green — pattern

The equipment is modeled after the Astra Militarum rather than Space Marines. That makes sense for Helldivers: both the Kasrkin and Super Earth's soldiers are elite human troops expected to survive impossible missions with discipline, firepower, and a frightening amount of expendability.

The R/40-K Hot-Shot Marksman Rifle is the Warbond's primary weapon. Arrowhead describes it as effective at close range and deadlier at long range, positioning it as a precision rifle that can still handle enemies pushing into your space.

The announcement does not publish its damage, magazine size, armor penetration, recoil, or scope settings. Those numbers will decide whether the Hot-Shot competes with existing marksman rifles or feels closer to a high-powered assault rifle.

Its first real test will be breakpoints. If it can remove medium targets efficiently without burning through magazines, it may become the Warbond's safest early unlock. If it depends on weak-point accuracy, players who prefer automatic primaries may get more immediate value from the Stratagem or armor.

P/40-K Bolt Pistol

The P/40-K Bolt Pistol brings one of Warhammer 40K's most recognizable weapon ideas into the secondary slot. Arrowhead emphasizes raw stopping power and versatility, but it has not published the weapon's full stat line.

As a sidearm, it will be compared with weapons that solve specific problems: emergency damage, silent shots, armor penetration, or ammunition efficiency. A hard-hitting Bolt Pistol could pair well with a primary built for crowds, letting you switch weapons when a sturdier target closes the distance.

The official description does not confirm explosive damage, stagger strength, or splash radius. The Warhammer name may suggest those qualities, but loadout advice should wait until players can test the live version.

40-K Meltagun Stratagem

The 40-K Meltagun is a short-range support weapon Stratagem that fires a superheated thermal beam. Its job is simple: get close enough to a heavily armored target and melt through it.

That range limitation should create the weapon's main tradeoff. Helldivers will need to move into dangerous space before firing, making positioning, stun tools, and squad support more important than with long-range anti-tank options.

Arrowhead calls it effective against the toughest enemies but has not confirmed its call-in time, cooldown, ammunition economy, or exact armor damage. Those details will determine whether it becomes a dedicated anti-heavy choice or a flexible weapon that can also erase medium units.

G/40-K Meltamine throwable

The G/40-K Meltamine is a proximity-activated burst mine. It threatens enemies and teammates alike, so placement will matter as much as damage.

It should fit defensive objectives, narrow approaches, extraction zones, and routes where a large enemy is likely to advance. The risk is classic Helldivers: a mine placed carelessly can punish the squad more efficiently than the enemy.

The reveal does not confirm how many mines you carry, whether they stick to surfaces, how large the trigger radius is, or how much armor they can destroy. Until those details are tested, treat it as a deliberate trap rather than a grenade you throw into every crowded fight.

TG-8 and TG-122 armor with True Grit

Castellan's Creed contains two armor sets:

  • TG-8 Sharpshooter — medium armor
  • TG-122 Demo-Trooper — heavy armor

Both use the new True Grit passive, which grants +20 weapon handling and +30% reload speed for support weapons.

The passive is designed for players who spend a large part of a mission carrying a machine gun, launcher, or other support weapon. Faster reloads can shorten the moments when you are exposed, while improved handling should make heavier equipment easier to control and move between targets.

The medium TG-8 offers more mobility. The heavy TG-122 should suit players who hold a position and expect to take hits while maintaining sustained fire. Because the passive is identical, your choice comes down to the usual speed-versus-protection tradeoff.

Capes, title, and Castellan's Green pattern

The cosmetic side of the Warbond leans into Cadian colors and military survival:

  • Camo Cloak cape and matching player card
  • City Fighter's Resolve cape and matching player card
  • Still Standing title
  • Castellan's Green pattern

Arrowhead says the package includes patterns, but the announcement does not give a complete list of every vehicle or equipment surface that can use Castellan's Green. Check the individual reward page before spending Medals if you want the pattern for one specific vehicle.

The armor and capes are the clearest crossover pieces. They translate the Kasrkin look into Helldivers gear without turning your character into a Space Marine.

How much does Castellan's Creed cost?

Arrowhead's reveal confirms that Castellan's Creed requires Super Credits, but it does not state the price in the announcement. Do not assume that it costs the same as a normal Premium Warbond.

Legendary Warbonds use a higher value tier. The support documentation specifically says a Premium Warbond token cannot claim one because the token is valued at 1,000 Super Credits and there is a price difference.

The exact Castellan's Creed price should be checked in the Acquisition Center when the Warbond appears. Super Credits can be earned during missions or purchased, and the Warbond will remain available after August 12.

Can a Premium Warbond token unlock it?

No. The official announcement directly says that a Premium Warbond token cannot claim the Helldivers 2 x Warhammer 40,000 Legendary Warbond.

That includes the Premium Warbond token associated with eligible Helldivers 2 editions. Save the token for a regular Premium Warbond and use Super Credits for Castellan's Creed.

You will also need Medals after unlocking the Warbond. Super Credits open access to its reward pages; Medals claim the individual weapons, armor sets, cosmetics, and other items.

Which Castellan's Creed item should you unlock first?

Before live weapon stats are available, the True Grit armor is the most predictable upgrade. Its support-weapon reload bonus is clearly defined and can improve a loadout you already use. Pick TG-8 for movement or TG-122 for protection.

The Hot-Shot Marksman Rifle is the most flexible weapon candidate, while the Meltagun has the highest potential to reshape anti-heavy builds. The Bolt Pistol may be a strong secondary, but its value depends on damage and ammunition. The Meltamine is the specialist choice for players who enjoy controlled defensive setups.

The best first unlock could change after the August 12 balance data appears. Start with the item that supports your existing role, then test the new weapons before committing the rest of your Medals.
