You do not need to buy Netflix just to watch the new GTA 6 presentation. You only need Netflix if you cannot stand waiting six extra hours.
Rockstar Games will premiere Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look on Netflix on Thursday, August 27, at 3 p.m. ET. The same presentation will arrive free on the official Rockstar Games YouTube channel and GTA 6 website at 9 p.m. ET.
It is an unusual release plan for a game preview, especially one with this much attention around it. The good news is that nobody is being permanently locked out. Netflix gets the first showing, while everyone else can watch the official upload later that night.

The Netflix premiere begins on August 27 at 3 p.m. ET, which is noon on the US West Coast.
The free Rockstar release follows six hours later at 9 p.m. ET.

Anyone with Netflix access can watch at 3 p.m. ET. Players without Netflix can wait until 9 p.m. ET, when Rockstar releases the presentation through its own YouTube channel and GTA 6 website.
The six-hour gap creates some obvious fear of missing out, but it is not a permanent Netflix exclusive. You will still get the same official presentation for free on August 27.
If avoiding spoilers matters to you, muting GTA 6 terms on social media for those six hours may be more useful than paying for another subscription.
Is this GTA 6 Trailer 3 or a gameplay reveal?
Rockstar has not officially called it Trailer 3.
The company is using the title Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look, without confirming its length or giving a detailed breakdown of what will be shown. Some coverage has described it as a gameplay reveal, and fans clearly expect gameplay, but Rockstar’s public page does not make that promise yet.
“Extended Look” sounds larger than a normal trailer, but it could mean several things: gameplay, a longer story presentation, a developer-led feature, or a mixture of footage and commentary.
Until Rockstar says more, the honest answer is simple: a new GTA 6 presentation is confirmed, but its exact format is not.
Why is GTA 6 premiering on Netflix?
Rockstar and Netflix have not publicly explained the business arrangement behind the early premiere.
The choice does turn a game preview into something closer to a streaming event. GTA 6 already reaches far beyond the usual gaming audience, and Netflix gives Rockstar a platform used by people who may never follow a traditional game showcase or publisher livestream.

The presentation should finally make several parts of GTA 6 easier to judge, even if Rockstar does not answer everything.
The first is gameplay. Trailer 1 and Trailer 2 established Vice City, Leonida, Jason, Lucia, and the game’s atmosphere, but they did not provide a clean look at how GTA 6 plays from moment to moment.

None of those details should be treated as confirmed until they appear in the presentation. They are simply the areas where Rockstar still has the most room to show something new.
When does GTA 6 release?
Grand Theft Auto VI is scheduled to launch on November 19, 2026, for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
Rockstar has not announced a PC release. The company is currently accepting console preorders and promoting Standard and Ultimate editions.
The August 27 presentation arrives less than three months before launch, so it should mark the point where GTA 6 stops being mostly trailers, artwork, and unanswered questions. Whether it becomes a full gameplay showcase or something more cinematic, it will be Rockstar’s clearest chance yet to show players what they are actually buying.
