The new Firefly Wedding trailer makes Shinpei’s feelings impossible to miss. Satoko Kirigaya offers to marry him because she is trying to survive a kidnapping. Shinpei is the assassin sent to kill her, yet he quickly begins speaking as though their marriage is already real. The preview puts that dangerous mismatch at the front of the show.
One of his lines sums up the problem:
“My love might be a bit heavy, but I’ll make you happy.”
Koki Uchiyama voices Shinpei. Lynn voices Satoko, a young woman from a prominent family who has been told she may not live long. She had hoped to find a respectable marriage for her father’s sake. Being taken by an assassin changes that plan in a moment, and her offer to Shinpei starts a relationship she cannot easily control.

What the trailer reveals
The preview moves from the pair’s first encounter to Shinpei’s increasingly possessive behavior. It does not present him as an ordinary romantic hero. Satoko needs to keep him on her side to stay alive, while his attachment gives her new reasons to worry. That is the tension behind Oreco Tachibana’s manga and its anime adaptation.
The footage also plays “Period,” a new song by iri, which will serve as the opening theme. ABEMA reports that this is iri’s first song tied to an anime. The earlier announced ending theme is “Yumegokochi” by TOOBOE. Both songs have now been announced, although the full episodes will show how they fit the story.
When will the anime start?
Firefly Wedding begins October 9 on Fuji TV’s Noitamina block in Japan. Crunchyroll has confirmed that it will stream the series in North and South America, Europe and other listed territories as part of its fall lineup. The exact streaming time in each region can differ from the Japanese TV broadcast.

The trailer is a better guide to the show’s tone than a simple description of an assassin romance. Satoko’s proposal is a desperate move, and Shinpei’s devotion brings its own danger. The new song and voice performances make that clear without revealing where their bargain leads.
