Peacock has ordered a live-action Fast & Furious series, moving the project beyond its earlier development announcement. The untitled show is targeting a premiere by 2028, but no exact date, story or cast has been announced.

Who is making the series?

Mike Daniels and Wolfe Coleman will write the pilot, serve as co-showrunners and executive producers. Vin Diesel is also an executive producer, alongside Sam Vincent, Neal H. Moritz, Pavun Shetty, Jeff Kirschenbaum and Chris Morgan. Universal Television is the studio. Diesel’s producer credit does not confirm an on-screen return as Dom Toretto.

Will the series connect to Fast Forever?

Peacock’s target puts the show in the same calendar year as Fast Forever, the next mainline film. Universal lists the movie for March 17, 2028, but neither company has said whether the show happens before or after it, or shares its story. Our Fast Forever release-date and production update has the confirmed movie details.

Fast & Furious has been on TV before through the animated Fast & Furious: Spy Racers, which ran from 2019 to 2021. Peacock’s new project is the franchise’s first live-action scripted series.
