The decision follows a sharp rise in viewing. Crew Girl reached 11.3 million views in its second week and climbed to No. 2 on Netflix’s English-language TV chart. Its audience more than doubled from the week before.

A second-week increase is a strong sign for a new series because it shows that viewers kept discovering it after launch weekend. Crew Girl finished behind Monster: The Lizzie Borden Story but ahead of the new season of The Gentlemen on the same weekly chart.
The first season has eight episodes and follows Teagan Tao, a teenage rower who transfers to Easton Prep and becomes coxswain for the school’s all-boys varsity boat.
