Ranma and Akane are still terrible at saying what they mean. The latest trailer for Ranma 1/2 season three returns to their uneasy relationship, brings Ryoga back into the mess and finds time for the martial-arts fights that keep interrupting ordinary life. The production released the new promo September 14 as the series heads toward an October 3 Netflix date.
The story has never needed a complicated explanation to be fun. Ranma Saotome changes into a girl when splashed with cold water and back with hot water. Ranma and Akane Tendo are engaged, but their arguments, other admirers and formidable rivals make even a simple conversation difficult. This season’s preview leans into that mix of affection and chaos.
What does the new trailer show?
Ranma, Akane and Ryoga receive the clearest attention. The official announcement describes a focus on their love-triangle dynamics, and the footage supplies both gentler exchanges and sudden fights. It also gives the supporting cast some brightly colored moments rather than pretending the three of them live in a quiet world.
The new promo includes pieces of the season’s music: opening song “Sunao Miman” by Fumino and ending song “Kawaikunai” by Yuika. A trailer is only a glimpse of the full episodes, but these short sections set the sound of the new run and place its romance beside the rapid slapstick.
Who is coming back?
MAPPA continues the new adaptation of Rumiko Takahashi’s manga. Kappei Yamaguchi voices the male Ranma, Megumi Hayashibara voices the female Ranma, Noriko Hidaka returns as Akane and Koichi Yamadera voices Ryoga. Konosuke Uda is the director. The production has been bringing a familiar cast into this new animated version rather than using the older series as footage.
An earlier season-three announcement showed Ryoga working on the Bakusai Tenketsu technique. The new trailer is less about explaining one move and more about the characters who will have to deal with one another when the fights stop. Akane and Ranma can be funny, stubborn and genuinely close within the same scene.
When will it be on Netflix?
The official English schedule advertises Netflix on October 3, 2026. Japanese television lists Saturday at 24:55, which is technically early Sunday, October 4 in Japan. Streaming timing can display differently by country and time zone, so check Netflix locally when the date arrives. The announced window is not a promise that every region gets the same clock time.
For returning viewers, the new trailer promises more of the show’s best contradiction: an engagement neither lead knows how to manage, surrounded by a world that never lets them sort it out quietly.
