Four friends can be close and still miss what the others are trying to say. That is where The Ramparts of Ice leaves Koyuki, Minato, Miki and Yota as its second season approaches. Netflix will start releasing the new episodes weekly on October 1 in Pacific Time, which is October 2 in Japan.

The anime follows Koyuki Hikawa, a high-school student who keeps people at a distance. She has known Miki Azumi since childhood, but the arrival of the forward, sometimes pushy Minato Amamiya makes her carefully kept world harder to control. Yota Hino, the gentle basketball player, completes the central group.

Where does the story go next?

Netflix says Koyuki and Minato’s friendship begins to turn into something more. At the same time, Yota finally tells Miki about the feelings he has held back for years. That does not promise an easy romance for anyone. One friend speaks; another stays quiet; and the timing is rarely kind to all four of them.

The official artwork makes the group look like ordinary classmates sharing a walk home. The next season is interested in what that simple picture cannot show: a friend wondering whether a confession changes everything, or a person who wants to be close but is frightened of being seen too clearly.

The same people are behind the new episodes

The series adapts Kocha Agasawa’s manga, published by Shueisha. MANQ directs for Studio KAI. Anna Nagase voices Koyuki, Fuka Izumi voices Miki, Shoya Chiba voices Minato and Satoshi Inomata voices Yota. Netflix’s season-two announcement also names Sakura Shinfuku as Tsukiko, Chiaki Kobayashi as Tsubasa and Akari Kito as Momoka.

This is not a new set of characters taking over the story. The drama grows from the relationships the first season spent time building. The manga’s title describes the wall Koyuki puts between herself and other people, and the new episodes ask what it takes for that wall to come down without someone getting hurt.

When and where will season two stream?

Netflix says The Ramparts of Ice season two premieres worldwide October 1, 2026, in Pacific Time, or October 2 in Japan. New episodes are scheduled weekly rather than arriving all at once. A specific time for every region has not been announced in the material checked for this story.

If you are coming in fresh, the first season introduces why Koyuki finds friendship difficult and why the other three keep drawing her back. Watching that before the new episodes will make the quiet shifts in the group much easier to feel.
