Croc has a date for his next trip. Croc 2: Kingdom of the Gobbos launches digitally on October 29, 2026, bringing the sequel back to Nintendo Switch, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S and Windows PC through Steam and GOG. Argonaut Games announced on October 1 that development is complete, then released the short launch-date video above.
This is a remaster of the second Croc adventure, not a newly written sequel. Titanium Studios is developing it, with Argonaut publishing. Alongside the platforming campaign, the release includes Croc2pedia, a museum that opens up material from the game’s development — including ideas that never made it into the finished adventure.
Croc leaves Gobbo Valley to find his parents
The story starts with a message in a bottle. Croc finds it on the beach and learns that his birth parents are looking for him. He leaves Gobbo Valley for the mainland, where his search runs into a familiar enemy: Baron Dante has returned, and Professor Gobbo has been captured after witnessing his resurrection.
The mainland has four villages to explore, from a coastal settlement to snowy paths, prehistoric surroundings and a mountaintop community. That gives the adventure a different shape from simply moving through one long stretch of jungle. Croc has people to help, missions to complete and crystals to collect as he travels.
Swap Meet Pete’s General Store puts those crystals to work. The cat merchant sells useful gadgets, and his Crystal Ball lets Croc travel between villages. Returning players will recognize the shop as part of the sequel’s structure; it is not a separate new mode invented for this release.

The trip includes more than jumping
Croc can still jump and attack with his spinning tail, while the sequel’s triple jump gives him another way to reach higher ground. The campaign includes more than 40 levels, with sections built around cars, speedboats, minecarts, a hang glider and an airplane.
The hang-glider image below shows one of those changes of pace: Croc flies over lava beneath a rocky ceiling, following a line of crystals. A vehicle section changes what you are doing, not just what the background looks like. It is one reason this sequel has more to offer than another set of paths for Croc to run along.

The Xbox listing also advertises 4K Ultra HD and 60 fps+ support for that version. Those are platform-specific store features, not a promise that every console will use the same resolution or frame rate. Steam lists full controller support, achievements and cloud saves for the PC release.
Croc2pedia lets you look at the game that almost was
The museum is the most interesting extra for anyone who already knows the campaign. Argonaut has gathered design documents, promotional material, animation tests and models for characters, locations and items that were cut during development. Interviews involve members of the original team as well as people working on the remaster.

The museum screenshot pairs an open design binder with a creature model. For longtime fans, the appeal is seeing an unused idea as something more concrete than a name in a list. You can compare what was planned with the game you remember, rather than treating every unfinished character as a missing secret to find in a level.
Which version should you watch for?
October 29 is the announced digital launch. PlayStation players have both PS4 and PS5 versions to look for; Xbox is listed for Series X|S, and the Nintendo release is for Switch. On PC, the GOG edition is DRM-free and does not require GOG Galaxy to play.
