Luma Island is coming to PlayStation 5. Feel Free Games announced the console version on September 24 and opened its PlayStation Store wishlist page. The studio did not give a PS5 release date, so this is an announcement, not a surprise launch. The game has been on PC since November 2024, and the developer says more than 800,000 people have played it there.
If you have not seen the game before, it begins with an old caravan and a farm that needs work. You can grow crops, raise animals, decorate, meet the local townspeople and hatch small magical creatures called Lumas. There are eight professions, so the day does not have to be spent doing the same farm jobs. You can also go out to fish, gather materials or explore. There is no stamina bar or inventory limit, which gives players more freedom to decide when to head home.
What can you do away from the farm?
The island has forests, mountain paths, jungles and caves. Ancient temples have puzzles and traps, and Pirate Cove adds its own activities and minigames. You can spend one session quietly building at home and another looking for treasure. The official PS5 screenshots show farmland, villages, snowy areas and temples, giving a good idea of how much the setting changes as you travel.
Feel Free Games is keeping three ways to play: Cozy, Adventure and Hero. In Cozy mode, combat is optional. The other two settings offer more challenge for players who want danger alongside the farming. The studio describes it as a game for both people new to games and experienced players; the mode choice is how it plans to make that work in practice.
Can PS5 players join friends on other platforms?
The developer says you can play by yourself or with up to four players online. It also says cross-platform play across PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC is planned. That is good news for groups who do not all own the same machine. It does not mean the PS5 edition is available today: the release date still needs to be announced, and any platform feature should be checked on the live store listing when the game arrives.
The PlayStation announcement is especially useful for people who have heard about Luma Island but do not play on PC. The game is already established there, so this is a new platform for an existing adventure, not a brand-new sequel. Feel Free Games has not announced a PS5 price in the blog post. For now, the practical step is to wishlist the game on PlayStation Store and wait for the date and price rather than treating either as confirmed.
