Apex Legends Season 30, called Marked, launches on August 4, 2026. Its biggest changes are a complete Bloodhound rework, a reshaped World’s Edge, risky Corrupted Attachments, and a new system that lets Energy Weapons regenerate ammo while they are not being used.
Loba and Rampart are also getting useful buffs, while Valkyrie and Seer are being pulled back. EA has shared the main update details, but the complete patch notes are scheduled for August 3, so smaller balance values and bug fixes may still be added before launch.
When does Apex Legends Season 30 start?
Season 30 Marked starts on August 4 across PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2. The original Nintendo Switch is not included because support for that version ends on the same date.
Players moving from the original Switch can keep their eligible account progress and cosmetics. Our Apex Legends Switch shutdown guide explains what transfers to Switch 2 and what happens to the Nintendo Apex Coin balance.
The update arrives as a regular seasonal download. EA has not announced a separate purchase requirement for Marked, and Apex Legends remains free to play.
Bloodhound is getting a complete rework
Bloodhound is still an information-focused Recon Legend, but Season 30 changes how the entire kit finds and follows enemies. The rework rewards tracking a squad over time instead of relying only on a single scan before a fight.
The passive now creates glowing enemy trails. Bloodhound can follow those tracks and activate White Ravens more easily by looking toward them. That should make the hunt feel more natural while moving through a POI instead of forcing players to stop and search for a small interaction prompt.
Eye of the Allfather gains snapshot scans after the first scan. These follow-up snapshots can update enemy positions, giving Bloodhound’s team more information as opponents move. It will not replace good communication, but it should make a successful scan more useful during a push.
The new Ultimate is called Allfather’s Cloak. Bloodhound deploys a device that cloaks any Legend who enters its area. The cloak remains for 12 seconds after leaving the zone, but firing a weapon or taking damage ends it. That creates room for rotations, flanks, revives, and surprise entries without turning the squad invisible throughout an entire fight.
Three new upgrades support the kit: Hidden Sight, Bird’s Eye, and True Predator. Their exact place in the upgrade tree matters because players will need to choose between stronger tracking and better pressure during combat. The full patch notes should confirm every final value.
World’s Edge has three new POIs and returning locations
Season 30 gives World’s Edge another major layout pass. The goal is to create better early fights and rotations without removing the recognizable parts of the map that longtime players still use to navigate.
- East Village and Climatizer: a new area built around the Climatizer side of the map.
- War Camp: a larger replacement for Survey Camp with more space for teams to land and fight.
- Tree Settlement: a new settlement that expands the playable space around Tree.
- Sorting Factory: the popular POI returns after being absent from the current version of the map.
- Fragment construction stacks: the familiar stacked buildings return to the city area.
- Big Maude: the landmark moves to a position above Landslide.
Players should expect landing patterns to change immediately. War Camp and the returning Sorting Factory are likely to attract crowded drops, while teams learning East Village and Tree Settlement may find safer routes before the most popular loot paths settle.
Corrupted Attachments trade power for a drawback
Corrupted Attachments are the main new loot idea in Marked. Each one gives a weapon a strong benefit, but it also carries a negative effect. A player can equip only one Corrupted Attachment on a weapon, so the choice is about whether the advantage fits the current gun and playstyle well enough to accept the cost.
The weapon and attachment interface now shows more statistics and explains effects directly. That should make it easier to compare a Corrupted Attachment with standard loot instead of guessing what changed after picking it up.
High-value locations have the best chance to produce these attachments. Vaults, Trials, care packages, and other special loot areas will matter more when a squad is willing to take the extra risk. Normal floor loot is also being adjusted: the overall amount of loot remains similar, but its average quality is lower, which makes premium sources more valuable.
Energy Weapons now regenerate ammo
Energy ammo is being removed from the ground loot pool. Instead, Energy Weapons regenerate their own ammunition while they are idle. The system applies in Battle Royale, Mixtape, and Wildcard.
This removes one ammo type from backpacks and floor loot, but it also changes how players manage Energy Weapons. Swapping away from the gun gives it time to refill, so carrying a reliable second weapon becomes part of the rhythm. Players who keep firing without allowing regeneration can still run low during a long fight.
The change could also make Energy Weapons easier to try early in a match because finding a specific stack of ammunition is no longer required. The complete patch notes should show whether every Energy Weapon regenerates at the same speed or uses weapon-specific timing.
Loba and Rampart buffs
Loba’s Burglar’s Best Friend becomes faster and reaches farther. The bracelet deploy time drops from 0.6 seconds to 0.4 seconds, projectile speed rises by roughly 30%, and its maximum range increases by 15%. Black Market Boutique also charges faster, with the cooldown moving from 150 seconds to 120 seconds.
Those changes should make Loba less vulnerable when escaping and give her squad more frequent access to nearby loot. The extra bracelet range is especially useful on World’s Edge, where elevation and open gaps can punish a short teleport.
Rampart receives faster progression for her Locked Hop-Up and stronger Amped Cover. Her walls build more quickly and survive more pressure, while Rampart moves faster when spinning up or firing Sheila. The result should be a Legend who can establish a position sooner and reposition more naturally while using the minigun.
Valkyrie and Seer nerfs
Valkyrie’s Missile Swarm loses damage and some of its previous trajectory strength. Skyward Dive also reaches 15% less height, which reduces the distance a squad can cover from one launch. Some of her upgrade options are being reduced as well.
Seer receives a smaller adjustment focused on the turn-slow effect in his kit. The reduced slow should give scanned opponents more control instead of locking their movement as heavily during a fight.
These changes do not remove either Legend’s main purpose. Valkyrie still provides vertical movement and squad rotation, while Seer still tracks enemies. The nerfs are aimed at the parts of their kits that could feel hardest to respond to.
What is not changing yet?
Marked includes balance and loot changes, but the larger Ranked update is not part of Season 30. EA says the next major Ranked work is planned for Season 31, with more changes expected in Season 32.
That makes Season 30 more about moment-to-moment matches: how teams track with Bloodhound, where they land on World’s Edge, which risky attachments they accept, and how they manage Energy Weapons. Ranked players can learn those systems now without also adapting to a completely new ladder at the same time.
The biggest Season 30 changes to learn first
- Bloodhound: follow glowing trails, use snapshot scans, and learn when Allfather’s Cloak is safe to deploy.
- World’s Edge: expect heavy traffic at War Camp and Sorting Factory while players test the new map flow.
- Corrupted Attachments: read both the benefit and drawback before replacing a dependable standard attachment.
- Energy Weapons: swap weapons and allow regeneration instead of treating the gun like it has unlimited ammo.
- Loba and Rampart: their faster tools should make both Legends more forgiving in active fights.
Full patch notes are expected on August 3. Until then, these are the confirmed headline changes that will shape the first week of Apex Legends Season 30 Marked.
