A celebrity divorce is about to become everyone else’s problem in WAR. The new trailer for Sky’s legal drama pits film star Carla Duval, played by Sienna Miller, against her tech-billionaire husband Morgan Henderson, played by Dominic West. Their split draws two rival London law firms into a case where reputation matters almost as much as the settlement. The eight-part series begins October 2 in the UK.
Sky is presenting the show as more than a courtroom contest. Lawyers from Cathcarts & Sons and Taylor & Byrne take opposing sides, while their private histories and ambitions become harder to keep outside the case. The trailer cuts between the famous couple, offices and the people trying to gain an advantage for their clients.
Who is fighting whom?
Carla and Morgan’s marriage is the headline-making dispute. The people tasked with untangling it include Phoebe Fox as Serena Byrne, James McArdle as Nicholas Taylor and Nina Sosanya as Beatrice Ubosi. Archie Renaux plays young lawyer Johnny Warren. Sky has also named Pip Torrens as St John Smallwood. That ensemble gives the story several points of view beyond the couple whose faces appear on the front page.
Miller’s Carla is a movie star, so everything said about her in a legal filing threatens to become public entertainment. Morgan has wealth and power of his own. The new preview makes their battle feel expensive and personal without showing who wins. No divorce outcome has been announced, and the trailer is not evidence for one.
Why make this a series?
George Kay created WAR. Sky ordered two seasons, with the opening run following this case across eight weekly episodes. That format leaves time for the firm rivalries and private choices to matter alongside each legal move. It also means viewers should not expect all eight episodes to arrive at once in the UK.
The cast and premise have been public for some time; the September 17 trailer is the fresh look at how they play together. Dominic West and Sienna Miller occupy the center, but the real fight extends to everyone working for them. The title is blunt, and the show appears to take the idea seriously: a famous split can turn a whole profession into its battlefield.
When and where can you watch?
WAR premieres Friday, October 2 on Sky and NOW in the UK, then continues weekly for eight episodes. HBO is the US partner, but Sky’s announcement does not give a precise US start date; do not assume its UK schedule applies everywhere. The series is still ahead of its premiere, so the trailer is an invitation rather than a review.
If the show works, it will be because Carla and Morgan’s private rupture makes every lawyer choose how far to go. The trailer gives the cast and the scale of the case; October will reveal how those choices play out.
