Prime Video has canceled Ride or Die after one season, ending the action comedy’s run on the service less than three months after its debut. The decision does not necessarily end the show forever: Paramount Television is reportedly shopping it to other platforms.
That search is only a possibility, not a rescue. No second service has announced a deal, and there is no Season 2 order in place.
Debbie and Judith may still have another road trip
Octavia Spencer plays Debbie, a careful woman whose life changes when she discovers that her lifelong friend Judith is an international assassin. Hannah Waddingham plays Judith, whose dangerous work forces both women onto the road across Europe.

The friendship is the center of the series. Judith can handle weapons, disguises and enemies, but Debbie knows the person behind that secret life. Their arguments and loyalty give the chase story its comedy.
The supporting cast includes Ed Skrein, Calam Lynch, Savannah Steyn, Jamie Parker, Sylvia Hoeks and Bill Nighy. Spencer and Waddingham also serve as executive producers.

The first season found an audience
All eight episodes premiered July 15 in more than 240 countries and territories. The show reached the top of Prime Video’s public Top 10 after its debut and also appeared in Nielsen’s weekly streaming rankings.
Reviews were generally positive, especially toward the chemistry between Spencer and Waddingham. That reception gives Paramount Television a reason to test interest elsewhere, even though it was not enough to secure a renewal from Prime Video.
The series began at Skydance Television and moved under Paramount Television after the companies’ larger business changes. Amazon MGM Studios and Paramount Television Studios produced the first season.
Being shopped does not mean renewed
When a studio shops a canceled show, it presents the project to other broadcasters or streaming services. A buyer would need to decide that the existing audience, cast and production plan justify the cost of another season.

For now, Ride or Die remains a one-season series. The first eight episodes are still available on Prime Video, but viewers should not treat the search for a new home as confirmation that filming will resume.
Peyton Reed, DeMane Davis, Allison Liddi-Brown and Lauren Wolkstein directed episodes in the first season. The show’s European locations, action scenes and two major stars also make it a larger commitment than a small comedy that can move services easily.
The unresolved part is simple: Paramount Television has not given up, but another platform has not said yes. Until that changes, Debbie and Judith’s road trip ends with the episodes already released.
