Rafe Is Part of the Plan Now
Rafe has spent most of the series hurting the Pogues, protecting himself, or creating problems they have to survive. Season 5 does not erase any of that. Netflix calls the arrangement an uneasy alliance, and the full trailer keeps that tension visible. He has information and connections the group can use, but trusting him is a different decision.
The alliance also puts Sarah in a difficult position. Rafe is her brother, but their history includes violence, betrayal, and years of damage to everyone around them. Working with him may be practical without becoming forgiveness. That difference gives the final season more to work with than a sudden redemption story.
Groff remains the direct target after killing JJ and escaping with the Blue Crown. Dalia and the Corsairs are also closing in, while the Kooks are trying to leave the Pogues without a home. Rafe can help against those threats, but he can also make every decision harder. The trailer presents him as part of the mission without pretending he has become one of the original friends.
JJ Is Still at the Center of the Final Season
