Who broke Josh’s oar?
Josh broke his own oar. The team initially blames Westvale rower Logan because he had been alone in the boathouse after meeting Baloo. Noah’s investigation appears to support that theory until Logan explains what actually happened.
The sabotage was part of Josh’s attempt to hide his health problem. Breaking the equipment gave him a reason to stop during the race without telling the team that his heart condition made rowing unsafe.
The correction also repairs Baloo and Logan’s relationship. Baloo had blocked Logan after believing he betrayed Easton, but they reconcile once Josh’s role comes out.

David Tao turns himself in to the authorities. The FBI says he defrauded investors and seized the family’s money, leaving Teagan and Ella to rebuild in Eagles Cove while he remained on the run.
Teagan rejects his blackmail plan. David returns with a USB and proposes forcing his former partner to restore the family’s money. Teagan tells him she would rather know he is in custody and be able to speak with him than watch him keep running.
He watches the Haverford Cup before surrendering. That choice does not erase the damage, but it ends the immediate uncertainty around whether he will abandon Teagan again.
Does Easton start a girls’ crew team?
Britney secures support for a girls’ boat. She recruits students and uses a family connection to bring in a wealthy donor. The plan gives Easton a new team but does not establish who will row or cox once practices begin.
Teagan has not decided whether to join it. She remains attached to the boys’ boat as its coxswain, while her own goal is to return to single sculling. A girls’ program could offer another route back to rowing rather than steering.
That unresolved decision is one of the clearest future-story hooks. Moving Teagan would also leave the boys without the leader who transformed the boat, creating consequences on both sides of the program.
