Prime Video's full Season 1 trailer follows Neagley after a close friend dies in what appears to be an accident. She does not accept the official explanation. Her search for the truth pulls her into a larger conspiracy and puts several new people around her in danger.
The action will feel familiar to Reacher viewers, but the reason behind it is more personal. Neagley is not helping Jack finish his mission. She is grieving someone from her own life, choosing whom to trust, and carrying the consequences when the investigation becomes violent.
The Case Is Personal for Neagley
The trailer opens the story through loss. A funeral, a folded American flag, and Neagley's controlled reaction make it clear that the death is not just a convenient excuse for another case. This person mattered to her before the series began.
That gives Maria Sten something different to play. Neagley has always been capable, calm, and prepared, even when everyone around her is losing control. A personal investigation can test what happens when that discipline stops being enough. The trailer still gives her plenty of direct, physical action, including a confrontation where a baseball bat becomes the quickest answer available. It also lets the quieter moments stay on screen.
Prime Video describes Neagley as a former military investigator who now works as a private investigator in Chicago. That home base separates her from Jack Reacher before either character throws a punch. Reacher keeps moving. Neagley has a city, a job, and relationships that can be damaged when trouble reaches her door.

The supporting cast is not being presented as a row of future victims or suspects. Greyston Holt plays Detective Hudson Riley, Adeline Rudolph plays Renee Birdwhistle, Jasper Jones appears as Keno, Matthew Del Negro plays Pierce Woodrow, and Damon Herriman plays Lawrence Cole. The trailer shows Neagley working beside other people instead of solving every problem alone.
