Stoney unlocks in Winter of Year 1, Rabbicula arrives in Spring of Year 2, and every full moon falls on the 15th day of a season. Those three facts solve several of Moonlight Peaks' least obvious progression questions, but each mechanic has an extra condition that is easy to miss.
This guide puts Stoney, Heart Stones, Rabbicula, Luck Dust, the Awooooo achievement, the Moon Goddess, and Moonflutter in one place. It also explains which rewards are worth planning for so you do not spend 9,000 Coins on a new farm animal without knowing what it produces.

How to unlock Stoney
Stoney becomes available after the first day of Winter in Year 1, provided you have completed the Farm Animals for Sale quest and opened the Barn. When you leave your house, Luna sends a letter called Stone... Thing? asking you to visit her farm.
Enter the Moonlit Pines area after reading the letter to trigger the introduction cutscene. Stoney then joins the rotating animal pool at Luna's Farm and costs 9,000 Coins.
Luna only displays three random animals each night. Unlocking Stoney does not guarantee it will appear immediately. If the shop has a different selection, continue your normal routine and check again the following night. There is no need to waste several useful days by sleeping only to reroll the shop.
What Stoney produces and how to care for it
Stoney looks like a rock, but the game treats it as a living Barn animal. Give it Fodder every day and interact with it regularly to keep its happiness up. A cared-for Stoney produces Heart Stones in the Barn and also leaves fertilizer like other farm animals.
Barn neighbors affect its mood. Stoney prefers living near Cheekens and dislikes being housed beside Cowculas. If its happiness stays low even though it is being fed, move the animals into different Barn groups before assuming production is broken.
The 9,000-Coin price is high for Year 1. Stoney is most useful when you want energy-saving potions, a fast source of normal Stone, or a strong gift for Llemi. If none of those goals are urgent, upgrading core farm tools and storage can be a better first use of the money.
Best uses for Heart Stones
Brew Frictionless Farming Tonic
Heart Stone is an ingredient in Frictionless Farming Tonic. The potion lets you perform farming actions without spending energy for its active period. Sabrina sells the recipe at Webb of Wonders. This is the most practical use when you have a large field or a busy night planned.
Give Heart Stones to Llemi
Llemi loves Heart Stones. Save a few before the Loveage Festival if you want a reliable relationship boost with the festival's cupid deity instead of guessing at another gift.
Convert one Heart Stone into 20 Stones
A Refiner can break one Heart Stone into 20 regular Stones. This is useful when construction or crafting drains the basic resource late in the season and you would rather not spend the night mining.
Sell spare Heart Stones
A Heart Stone sells for 45 Coins. That return alone does not recover Stoney's purchase price quickly, so selling should be the fallback after you have covered potion, gifting, and building needs.
Is Stoney worth 9,000 Coins?
Yes, but it is a utility purchase rather than a fast-money animal. Heart Stones support energy management, relationships, and material conversion. Players who only want direct daily profit can wait until their farm economy is more comfortable.
Before buying, make sure the Barn has space, you can afford daily Fodder, and Stoney will not be placed beside Cowculas. The animal is far more useful when you can keep it happy from the first day.
How to unlock Rabbicula
Rabbicula arrives later than Stoney. On the first day of Spring in Year 2, Luna sends a letter titled Rabbicula! explaining that one appeared in her garden. After that message, Rabbicula joins the rotating stock at Luna's Farm for 2,800 Coins.
As with Stoney, the animal may not appear in the shop on the first visit. Check the three-animal selection on later nights until it rotates in. Rabbicula lives in a Barn, needs Fodder every day, and benefits from being petted to raise happiness.
How to get Luck Dust
- Buy a Rabbicula after its Spring Year 2 introduction.
- Place it in a Barn and make sure it is fed every night.
- Give it access to a safe farm area where dig spots can appear.
- Look for small mounds on the ground and use the Shovel to dig them up. Hellkitten form can also interact with the spots.
Luck Dust does not appear as a normal Barn pickup. The Rabbicula creates dig spots around the parts of the farm it can reach. Higher happiness can increase how often the spots appear, but Luck Dust does not have star-quality levels.
Protect valuable crops before letting Rabbicula roam. The animal can eat crops, and the official wiki describes a crop being taken when Luck Dust is collected. Use fences or give Rabbicula access to a controlled area so one ingredient does not cost you a rare harvest.
Best uses for Luck Dust
Brew Love Potion
Luck Dust is used for Love Potion, which increases the friendship gained from gifts. Sabrina sells the recipe at Webb of Wonders. Brew it before a planned gifting round when you are trying to push several relationships forward at once.
Use it as a flexible gift
Luck Dust is liked by many residents, which makes it a useful emergency gift when you have forgotten someone's favorites. It is not a loved gift for everyone, and Death is a notable exception, so use character-specific favorites when you have them.
Sell extra Luck Dust
Luck Dust sells for 110 Coins. It can become passive income after your potion and gifting needs are covered, but remember the crop risk. Expensive produce disappearing from an unfenced plot can erase the value of the sale.
When is the full moon?
The full moon is always on the 15th day of each season. Spring 15, Summer 15, Autumn 15, and Winter 15 are the four reliable dates. Each season runs for 28 days, so mark the middle of the calendar as soon as a new season begins.
The full-moon state lasts for the night, but one important interaction waits until after midnight: members of the Logan family transform into werewolves at 12:00. Arriving early is fine; use the extra time for fishing or talking to the Moon Goddess, then visit the werewolves once the clock passes midnight.
How to unlock the Awooooo achievement
- Wait for the 15th day of any season.
- Stay awake until after 12:00, when Logan family members enter their werewolf forms.
- Travel to the Howling Marshes and check the area near the waterfall in the upper-right part of the map.
- Speak to Brook, Ludo, Ridge, or Saga while that character is transformed.
The achievement only requires a conversation with a werewolf during the full moon. You do not need a special gift or a particular friendship level. If nobody is transformed, confirm that the calendar shows the 15th and that the clock has passed midnight.
Other full-moon activities
Visit the Moon Goddess
The Moon Goddess visits Moonlight Peaks on the 13th, 14th, and 15th. The full moon is therefore one of the few regular chances to talk to her and give a gift. Raising her relationship is also tied to an item needed for a complete Museum collection.
Catch Moonflutter at Luna Bay
Moonflutter only appears at Luna Bay during a full moon. Bring a Premium or Enchanted Fishing Rod; lower fishing rods cannot catch it. Pack any food or potions you need before leaving the farm so the one-night window is not lost to preparation.
Best order for these goals
Stoney is the first milestone because it appears in Winter of Year 1. Save money through Autumn, unlock the Barn, and decide whether its Heart Stone utility is worth the 9,000-Coin cost. Full-moon activities can be completed in any season, so handle Awooooo and Moonflutter whenever the 15th fits your schedule.
Rabbicula is a Year 2 goal. By then, your farm should have enough space to create a fenced area that protects valuable crops. This progression keeps the guide's three systems from competing for money and attention at the same time.
Troubleshooting
Stoney or Rabbicula is not in Luna's shop
Confirm that you reached the required date and received the relevant letter. The shop selection is random after the animal joins the pool, so return on another night.
No Heart Stones are appearing
Check daily Fodder, happiness, Barn space, and nearby animals. Separate Stoney from Cowculas and place it with Cheekens when possible.
No Luck Dust dig spots are appearing
Feed and pet Rabbicula, then make sure it can enter an open farm area. Look for dig mounds across every accessible part of the plot. If valuable crops are nearby, fence them before encouraging wider access.
Awooooo did not unlock
Talk to a Logan family member on the 15th after midnight, not simply at the beginning of the night. The character must be in werewolf form when the conversation happens.
