Liar Game is getting a second anime season. The show's official website says Season 2 is in production, following the end of the first season. It has not announced a premiere date, episode count or trailer for the new season yet.
The announcement is good news for viewers who wanted more of Nao Kanzaki and Shinichi Akiyama after the first run. It is a production confirmation, though, not a promise that new episodes will arrive immediately. A release window will need a separate announcement.
What is Liar Game about?
Nao receives a box containing a huge sum of money and learns she has been pulled into a contest built around deception. She turns to Akiyama, a former con artist, for help. The two have to understand each game's rules, work out what other players want and decide whom they can trust.
The anime adapts Shinobu Kaitani's manga. Its first season began airing in Japan in April 2026 and ran through Episode 26. The new production announcement came as that final episode was arriving. It does not say which manga games the next season will cover, so plot predictions from readers are still predictions.
Where can you watch the first season?
The official streaming page lists Crunchyroll worldwide outside Japan and China for Season 1. Availability and language options can vary by country. The site has not confirmed a streaming partner for Season 2. Crunchyroll carrying the first season makes it an obvious place to check for updates, but that is not the same as a new-season deal.
The production team has also not given a date for more cast or staff information. For now, the confirmed news is clear and simple: Liar Game Season 2 is happening, and the official site will have to tell us when we can watch it.
