Jordan Mendoza has Steve Buscemi, Wanda Sykes and a long list of comedy guests joining him in The Terrors of Jordan Mendoza. His new Adult Swim show premieres on the evening of Sunday, September 13, at midnight ET/PT.
Mendoza created the series and also stars, directs and executive produces. It follows a frightened man through strange dreams, with short live-action sketches that mix comedy and horror. Each episode is scheduled in a quarter-hour slot.
The official trailer moves between a cinema, an office and a library, then switches to a black-and-white scene with Mendoza in a suit and hat. The settings and costumes change from sketch to sketch.
Who joins Jordan Mendoza?
Steve Buscemi and Wanda Sykes are confirmed guest performers.
The announced guests also include Fred Armisen, Lake Bell, Marc Maron, Eva Victor and Randall Park. Thomas Lennon, Haley Joel Osment, Fred Melamed, Clea DuVall and Kimiko Glenn are among the other performers taking part.
These are guest appearances, rather than an announcement that every performer appears in every episode. Mendoza is the lead, while the other actors join him across the series.
Where you may have seen Mendoza before
Mendoza starred in the Netflix comedy Neon and served as a consulting producer on it. His film appearances include No Hard Feelings and Problemista. He has also written for Dave, Big Mouth and Ziwe, and worked as a writer and producer on Overcompensating.
For this show, he is taking on the central role both on screen and behind the camera. Avalon produces the series, with Aaron Brown, David Martin and Jonathan Stern joining Mendoza as executive producers. Christopher Bear provides the original music.
“Wowee! I can’t believe this is finally happening,” Mendoza said when the premiere was announced.

The U.S. premiere is September 13 at midnight ET/PT on Adult Swim.
The announcement places it at the end of Sunday night, so viewers setting a recording should check that late-night slot. It is a live-action sketch series, not an animated show.
