Gothic 3 Classic launches on November 24, 2026, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2. THQ Nordic has priced the overhauled console edition at ?29.99 in Europe. A US price has not been posted on every storefront yet, so the euro figure is the only price worth treating as confirmed right now.

This is the original Gothic 3 adapted for current consoles, not a ground-up remake. The important changes are community patch 1.75, further gameplay improvements, a controller-focused interface, and additional optimization. That combination should make the famously rough 2006 RPG easier to live with, but THQ Nordic has not promised a visual remake or a completely rebuilt combat system.

The third game also changes the shape of the series. The Nameless Hero is no longer trapped inside the Colony or limited to Khorinis. He reaches mainland Myrtana and walks into a war between orcs, rebels, and other powers, with enough freedom to support different sides and reshape the ending.

What is Gothic 3 Classic?

Gothic 3 Classic is an overhauled console version of the 2006 open-world RPG. It keeps the original story, map, quest structure, character system, and combat foundation while packaging them for modern controllers and hardware.

That distinction matters because Gothic 1 Remake is a separate project. Gothic 3 Classic is not replacing old environments, performances, or mechanics with a new production. If you are expecting the kind of visual rebuild seen in Gothic 1 Remake, this is a different release with a much narrower goal: preserve Gothic 3 and make it work more comfortably on consoles.

The story picks up after the Nameless Hero leaves Khorinis. Orcs control much of mainland Myrtana, King Rhobar is holding Vengard with the forces he has left, and human rebels continue to fight. The southern Hashishin cooperate with the orcs. You are not locked into one clean heroic route, which is where Gothic 3 gets much of its identity.

Armored characters gather around a campfire in a Gothic 3 Classic settlement.
