Their key vehicle is a steam-locomotive-shaped time machine that runs across glowing tracks. The official description presents the trip as an adventure involving steam and time rather than an adaptation of an earlier Doraemon long story.

The teaser shows time moving in the wrong direction

The preview opens on London streets, clock faces and the group’s arrival in the 19th century. Doraemon starts the Steam-Powered Time Machine, but the footage then reverses and his top hat falls as he realizes that the flow of time has changed.

The teaser does not identify the cause of the disruption or reveal an antagonist. Its clearest story promise is that the characters must deal with a damaged or altered timeline while navigating the industrial-era city.

Rushio Moriyama directs from Makoto Ueda’s script

Rushio Moriyama is directing his first Doraemon theatrical feature after working on the television anime since 2020. Makoto Ueda, the leader of theater group Europe Kikaku, wrote the screenplay.

Ueda has previously written stories centered on time and science fiction, including Summer Time Machine Blues. The film’s official announcement emphasizes that both Moriyama and Ueda are joining the Doraemon movie series for the first time.

The principal Doraemon voice cast returns

Wasabi Mizuta voices Doraemon and Megumi Ohara voices Nobita. Yumi Kakazu returns as Shizuka, Subaru Kimura as Gian and Tomokazu Seki as Suneo. The announcement did not name new guest characters or performers.

That keeps the central group intact while the teaser concentrates on the new period setting, costumes and time-travel problem.
