Netflix's official teaser previews Mizu's journey toward London.
Netflix has finally put a month on Blue Eye Samurai Season 2: January 2027. The animated revenge series will return worldwide on Netflix, and Netflix has already confirmed that Season 3 will be the final season, planned for 2028. The update arrived with a new teaser that moves Mizu's hunt out of Japan and toward London.
Season 1 followed Mizu, a mixed-race swordfighter who hides her identity while tracking the men connected to her birth. The new season starts with two possible targets still alive. Netflix Tudum says Mizu is sailing to London to find them, including the two men who may be her father.
Mizu takes the revenge story to London
The change in setting is clear, but the central mystery has not been replaced. Mizu is still looking for answers about her father and the people who helped shape her life. London gives that search a new group of strangers, new dangers, and a place where the rules she learned in Japan may not help her as much.
The teaser shows Mizu in a blue-lit passage and on the journey toward London. A storm sequence reported from the trailer makes the crossing look dangerous, although Netflix has not revealed exactly what happens after she arrives. The footage is a location change, not a plot summary, and it leaves the two targets and their allies off-screen.

Mizu will not be the only character with a new problem. Netflix's official logline keeps Akemi and Taigen at Edo Castle, where they face a dangerous new shogun. Ringo is also searching for a new purpose after the events of the first season.
That gives Season 2 two connected but separate pressures. Mizu is pursuing a personal lead overseas, while Akemi and Taigen are caught inside a court where power can change hands quickly. Ringo's storyline also moves beyond his role as Mizu's helper. Netflix has not said when these threads will meet, so any prediction about a reunion is still just a prediction.
The main voice cast is returning
Maya Erskine returns as Mizu, with Brenda Song as Akemi, Darren Barnet as Taigen, and Masi Oka as Ringo. Those four characters formed the emotional center of the first season, and their return keeps the story connected even as Mizu leaves Japan.
Akemi's position at court gives her a problem that cannot be solved with a sword, while Taigen has to decide what loyalty means inside a new power structure. Ringo's search for purpose could be the quieter thread of the season, but Netflix has not described how his path will connect to the larger conflict.
Amber Noizumi and Michael Green remain the series' creators, writers, and executive producers. Jane Wu continues as supervising director and producer, while Blue Spirit returns as the animation studio. The current announcements do not give a complete Season 2 cast list, so the teaser should not be treated as a full casting reveal.
Season 3 will be the final chapter
Netflix has confirmed the end point before giving Season 2 an exact day. Season 3 is in production and is scheduled to conclude Mizu's story in 2028. The company has not announced the episode count, a specific Season 3 date, or the ending of the revenge plot.
That decision gives the show a defined three-season shape. Season 2 can take Mizu to London without making the journey feel like a detour that has to continue forever, while the final season has room to resolve the people and conflicts introduced there. That is an interpretation of the schedule, not a promise about the story's structure.
Netflix's anime lineup is also expanding around the same period. Pixel Twelve's coverage of [Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2](https://pixeltwelve.com/articles/cyberpunk-edgerunners2-trailer-october-netflix-date) covers that series' October 20, 2026 release, but Blue Eye Samurai is taking a different route: one continuing revenge story, a new country, and a confirmed ending.
The exact Season 2 premiere day can wait. The useful news is already set: Mizu reaches London in January 2027, Akemi, Taigen, and Ringo have their own problems in Japan, and the series will end with Season 3 in 2028.
