Warning: This article contains major spoilers for the Adults Season 2 finale.

Adults spent most of its second season making five friends talk around their feelings. The finale finally stops doing that, then adds one more complication before the credits roll. Anton and Paul Baker kiss after months of tension. Billie and Samir hook up too, and the second reveal may be the one that causes the bigger mess inside the house.

The episode is called “Vote for Paul Baker,” but it ends up being about every relationship the roommates have been avoiding. There is no Season 3 renewal yet, but the finale leaves the writers with plenty to work with.

What happens in the Adults Season 2 finale?

The finale brings the housemates together around Paul Baker’s run for HOA president. Issa helps Anton face what he feels for Paul Baker, and the pair finally share the kiss the show has been circling since Season 1. Their relationship is complicated by the fact that they are already legal husbands, even though they have spent the season pretending the first kiss did not change anything.

Then the episode pulls the rug out from under the expected ending. Issa hears noise behind a bedroom door and assumes Anton and Paul Baker are inside. When she checks, Billie and Samir are the ones who have been together. The show does not give the rest of the group time to react, which is exactly why the moment feels like a cliffhanger instead of a neat romantic conclusion.

Why Anton and Paul Baker finally kiss

Anton and Paul Baker’s storyline is the season’s slow burn. They are close friends, legal husbands, and two people who keep treating attraction like a scheduling problem. Issa’s encouragement gives Anton permission to be honest, while Paul Baker’s campaign chaos leaves him less able to hide behind jokes.

The finale does not turn them into a settled couple overnight. It gives them a real choice, then cuts away before they have to explain what that choice means. That restraint fits Adults better than a speech would have. These characters are much better at making a decision than discussing it afterward.

Billie and Samir are the real surprise

Billie and Samir have always had a history that sits just outside the show’s romances. They know each other too well, and both have used friendship as a safe place to avoid saying what they want. The finale turns that old comfort into a new problem.

Samir has just been dumped by Carly, who plans to move to Seattle, and he is shaken by how much of his identity was tied to being her boyfriend. Billie is also facing the possibility of losing the home and routine she loves. The hookup comes from those two fears colliding, not from a carefully planned date.

The house now has two secrets to deal with

Anton and Paul Baker’s kiss is public only to the people who were in the room. Billie and Samir’s hookup is even more fragile because the others do not know it happened. The finale lets both couples walk away from the night without a group conversation, leaving the house full of information that can change how everyone behaves.

That gives the show two very different sources of tension. Anton and Paul Baker have to decide whether they can be honest about a relationship that has been hiding in plain sight. Billie and Samir have to decide whether the hookup was a mistake, a one-time comfort, or the start of something that could damage their friendship.

Is Adults Season 3 confirmed?

No. FX has not announced a Season 3 renewal. The creators have said they have many possible stories in mind, and the finale interviews make clear that they would like to keep exploring the group. That is interest from the people who make the show, not a production order.

For now, Season 2 is a complete eight-episode run. Hulu lists both seasons, while FX continues to point viewers to the current season. Any release date, episode count, or new cast announcement would need to come from the network or the streaming service.

Where can you watch Adults Season 2?

Adults Season 2 is streaming on Hulu in the United States. The series is also available through Disney+ in some international markets, where the release schedule can differ. Hulu currently lists two seasons and 17 episodes in its catalog.

What could happen next?

The simplest Season 3 setup is also the most uncomfortable one: let the house find out about both hookups at the same time. Issa could feel betrayed by Anton even after pushing him toward Paul Baker. Samir may regret sleeping with Billie so soon after Carly left. Billie, meanwhile, may be the only person who wants the new arrangement to become real.

The finale does not promise that any of those romances will last. It does something more useful. It changes the friendships enough that the next season could not simply reset the house and start over. That is a much better place to leave Adults than another round of everyone pretending nothing happened.
