Beast of Reincarnation

Beast of Reincarnation is Game Freak's single-player action RPG, set in a blight-ravaged Japan in 4026. Emma's real-time swordplay works with commands for her canine partner Koo, while skill trees, gear, spirit stones, boss powers, and ranged, stealth, or aggressive loadouts shape progression across large explorable stages.

Beast of Reincarnation is Game Freak’s single-player action RPG for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Windows PC. It launched in August 2026. Emma’s swordplay generates opportunities for Koo’s command-based abilities, with separate skill trees and equipment shaping how the pair fights.

Read full overview

The journey crosses a blight-damaged Japan in 4026. Emma is a Blightborn swordswoman who controls plants; Koo is her canine malefact companion. Their powers help them explore large stages with optional routes rather than one seamless open world. There is no second-player co-op role for Koo.

During combat, Emma attacks, dodges, and parries in real time. Koo’s command menu slows the action while you choose a technique. Choose Story difficulty for more forgiving parry timing, Normal for the standard balance, or Hard for a tougher campaign.

Patch v1.0.11/v1.009.000, dated September 8, allows skills tied to flower nodes to be reset and adds more SP-yielding Blighted Sprouts. Console players can disable film grain, chromatic aberration, and cutscene post-processing. Selected scenes through Great Wall Terraces can be skipped; not every cutscene is skippable.

The release guide covers current Game Pass access, editions, PC requirements, and the September patch.
