Peacock has renewed The Traitors for three additional seasons, on top of the season already set to return in 2027. Alan Cumming will stay as host.

The order follows a huge year for the reality competition. Season 4 became the show’s most-watched Peacock season and won seven Emmys, the most any competition series has collected in a single year.

How many new seasons did Peacock order?

Peacock ordered three seasons beyond the 2027 return. It has not announced season numbers, premiere dates, episode counts or cast lists for those extra runs.

Season 4 premiered January 8 and ended February 25, 2026. Its 23-player cast included Lisa Rinna, Michael Rapaport, Maura Higgins and Eric Nam. All four completed seasons are streaming on Peacock.

Is Alan Cumming returning?

Yes. Peacock confirmed Cumming for the 2027 season and all three seasons in the new order. He has hosted the U.S. version since its January 2023 debut and also serves as an executive producer.

Each season sends a mix of reality stars, performers and athletes to Ardross Castle in Scotland. The Faithful try to identify the hidden Traitors while completing missions that can raise the prize to $250,000. Cumming presents the missions, leads the Roundtable ceremonies and asks the finalists whether they want to end or continue the game.

How did The Traitors make Emmy history?

Season 4 won Outstanding Reality Competition Program. Cumming earned his third straight Emmy as host, while the show also won directing, production design, cinematography, costumes and picture editing.

Those results are included in our complete list of 2026 Emmy winners. Peacock also reported that viewing time for the latest season rose 72% from Season 3 and reached 8.1 billion minutes between its January premiere and early September.

When does The Traitors: New Blood start?

The Traitors: New Blood premieres Thursday, September 17 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on NBC. The two-hour launch includes the first two episodes, and both will stream on Peacock the next day.

New Blood is a separate all-civilian edition with 22 contestants selected from more than 80,000 applicants. It is not one of the three newly ordered Peacock seasons. The regular U.S. series will continue using celebrity and reality-TV casts.

The franchise is also expanding outside the main Peacock show. The Celebrity Traitors Season 2, the separate UK celebrity edition, begins October 1.

What has Peacock not announced yet?

Peacock has not revealed who will enter the castle in 2027, when filming begins or when the three additional seasons will arrive. Cumming is the only returning cast member confirmed so far.

The next new episodes come from New Blood this week. The celebrity edition returns in 2027, and Peacock has already ordered three more seasons after it.
