Where can you watch the Emmys?
NBC is the U.S. television home of the ceremony. Peacock carries the same live broadcast and will also make it available on demand.
Outside the United States, the official partners vary by region. Canada gets the show on CTV and Crave at 8 p.m. ET / 5 p.m. PT. TNT and TNT Series carry it across Latin America, including a 9 p.m. start in Argentina, Chile, and Brazil. In the United Kingdom, LG 1 on LG Channels begins the ceremony at 1 a.m. BST on Tuesday, September 15. Australia gets it on Showcase at 10 a.m. AEST Tuesday.
Who is hosting the 2026 Emmys?
Mariska Hargitay hosts this year’s ceremony. The Law & Order: SVU star is the first woman to host the Emmys alone in 15 years, and she is also one of the telecast’s executive producers. Our earlier report explains her return to the Emmy stage.
Hargitay arrives with two new trophies of her own. Her documentary My Mom Jayne won Outstanding Documentary or Nonfiction Special and Outstanding Directing for a Documentary/Nonfiction Program during the Creative Arts Emmys earlier this month.
Which shows lead the main races?
The Pitt has 25 nominations, the most of any drama this year. The medical series is trying to win Outstanding Drama Series for the second year in a row, with Pluribus positioned as its closest challenger. Noah Wyle is also one of the leading contenders for drama actor, while Rhea Seehorn leads the discussion in drama actress for Pluribus.
Hacks set a new comedy record with 24 nominations in one year. Its main competition for Outstanding Comedy Series is Widow’s Bay. Jean Smart is chasing another lead comedy actress win for Hacks, while Matthew Rhys is a leading contender for comedy actor for Widow’s Bay.
Could Harrison Ford make Emmy history?
Ford is nominated for supporting comedy actor for Shrinking. A win would give him his first Emmy and make him the oldest winner in that category at 84. We have a full look at Ford’s historic nomination.
Jean Smart has another record within reach. If she wins lead comedy actress for Hacks, it will be her fifth consecutive victory in the category.
What else is planned for the ceremony?
Michael J. Fox will receive the Bob Hope Humanitarian Award for his work supporting Parkinson’s disease research and public awareness. The award is presented separately from the competitive categories.
The presenter list includes Zendaya, Florence Pugh, Amy Poehler, Keke Palmer, Jon Hamm, Sarah Michelle Gellar, and David Boreanaz. Gellar and Boreanaz are also part of a segment celebrating the 30th anniversary of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Kate Jackson, Cheryl Ladd, and Jaclyn Smith will celebrate 50 years of Charlie’s Angels, and Noah Kahan will perform “Bridge Over Troubled Water” during the In Memoriam segment.
Monday’s ceremony will decide whether The Pitt repeats, whether Hacks turns its record 24 nominations into another comedy win, and whether Ford finally gets his first Emmy. Viewers who miss the live broadcast can watch it later on Peacock.
