The Gentlemen takes Eddie Horniman and Susie Glass into northern Italy in Season 2. Castellitto plays Marco Moretti, the head of an Italian crime family. Eddie and Susie have moved their operation beyond England, and Marco’s group notices what they are doing. Lead writer Matthew Read describes him as a powerful and dangerous man who can affect how far their plans go in Italy.
Who is Cico Maldini?
Morrone plays Cico, a small-time criminal with useful local contacts. He is married to Bella, the Italian aristocrat played by Benedetta Porcaroli. Eddie and Susie rely on Cico to help them understand the area and make connections, even though Read warns that he should not be trusted.
Why the Italian cast matters
Theo James and Kaya Scodelario return as Eddie and Susie, whose English estate and cannabis business were the center of the first season. In the new season, Marco represents an established crime family in northern Italy, while Cico offers the contacts Eddie and Susie lack. Bella moves in both aristocratic and criminal circles, bringing a different connection to Eddie’s world.
All eight episodes of The Gentlemen Season 2 are streaming on Netflix. The series has also been renewed for a third season, although Netflix has not announced a release date or cast for it.
