Hudson Williams and Connor Storrie are returning to Heated Rivalry, but the second season is bringing in a much larger cast. The latest additions include Nick Stahl, Michelle Mylett, Lauren Chan, Brendan Morgan, David Tomlinson and Gerry Dee. Crave had already announced Milla Jovovich, Kevin Zegers, Paul Gross and five other newcomers.
Season 2 is planned for spring 2027; it is not streaming yet. The new names and roles have been confirmed by the companies distributing the series.
Who joins Shane and Ilya?
Williams returns as Shane Hollander and Storrie as Ilya Rozanov. Justice Smith is back as Harris Drover, with Charlie Gillespie returning as Troy Barrett. Among the new faces, Milla Jovovich plays Dr. Galina Molchalina, Kevin Zegers plays Coach Wiebe and Paul Gross plays Commissioner Roger Crowell. The casting announcements do not say how much screen time each new character will have.
Another group of new characters includes Emily Hampshire as Vanessa, Edvin Ryding as Luca Haas, Robert Naylor as Wyatt Hayes, Sabrina Jalees as Farah Jalali and Priyanka as Tarek.
The latest additions
Nick Stahl will play Curtis Barrett. Brendan Morgan is Zane Boodram, David Tomlinson is Cody Kent, Gerry Dee is Coach Cooper, Michelle Mylett is Lisa and Lauren Chan is Gen. The announcements identify the actors and their characters, but leave their storylines under wraps.
The story still centers on Shane and Ilya. The first season follows the rival hockey players as their private relationship develops alongside their careers. Jacob Tierney created the series from Rachel Reid’s Game Changers books and returns as writer, director and executive producer.
Where can you watch it?
Season 1 is available on Crave in Canada and HBO Max in the United States. Season 2 is expected in spring 2027 on Crave in Canada and HBO Max in the announced territories, including the U.S. An exact premiere date has not been announced.
