Helen Webb’s double life is getting harder to contain. Netflix has released the Black Doves Season 2 trailer and set November 5, 2026, for the spy drama’s return. Keira Knightley is back as Helen, with Ben Whishaw returning as her friend and occasional rescuer Sam.

What is Helen facing this time?
Helen is still feeding government secrets to the Black Doves while her husband Wallace moves closer to becoming prime minister. Her handler, Mrs Reed, is pulled into a threat of her own. The tension is no longer only about whether Helen can keep her cover: the people around her have secrets and enemies too.
Who is returning, and who is new?
Knightley, Whishaw and Sarah Lancashire, who plays Mrs Reed, lead the returning cast. Andrew Buchan also returns as Wallace. Among the new arrivals, Ambika Mod plays Laila, an agent sent to help Helen; Neve Campbell joins as Cecile Mason. Netflix has also named Babou Ceesay, Sam Riley and Sylvia Hoeks for the new season.
Joe Barton created and wrote the series. Netflix says Julian Farino and Kieron Hawkes directed the new season. The trailer shows the tone of the return, but it does not settle how the new alliances will play out.
