Tatsuki Fujimoto 17-26 has been nominated for the Short-Form Series award at the 2026 International Emmys. The anthology adapts eight short comics Fujimoto made between ages 17 and 26, before the global success of Chainsaw Man.
What are the eight shorts?
Each episode is a separate story, rather than a chapter in one continuous plot. Six animation studios and seven directors worked on the collection. The official Japanese lineup opens with a story about two children hidden among chickens after an alien takeover, followed by a schoolboy’s desperate act in Sasaki Stopped a Bullet.
Love Is Blind turns a confession into a science-fiction comedy; Shikaku follows an assassin and an ancient vampire. Mermaid Rhapsody centers on an underwater piano and an unexpected friendship. The final stories are Woke-Up-as-a-Girl Syndrome, Nayuta of the Prophecy and Sister’s Sister, which moves the focus to two sisters and their art.
Where can you watch it?
The project had a limited two-part Japanese cinema run beginning October 17, 2025. Amazon announced the worldwide Prime Video streaming release for November 8 by Japan time. Check the catalog in your country for current access, audio and subtitles.

The nomination is for the anthology as a short-form series, not for an individual episode or a performance. The Academy will announce the winners on November 23 in New York.
