Daisy Edgar-Jones and Esmé Creed-Miles lead the new Sense and Sensibility as sisters Elinor and Marianne Dashwood. The film brings Jane Austen’s story back to theaters with Georgia Oakley directing and Diana Reid writing the screenplay.
Edgar-Jones plays Elinor; Creed-Miles plays Marianne. Their different ways of handling love and family change are at the center of the story. The two actors appear together in the official trailer, which is embedded below.
Who else is in the cast?
Caitríona Balfe, Frank Dillane, George MacKay and Fiona Shaw join the two leads. Focus Features has also announced Herbert Nordrum and Bodhi Rae Breathnach. The studio has confirmed the sisters’ roles but has not named every other character in its cast announcement, so those parts are not identified here.
Balfe is known for Outlander, MacKay starred in 1917, and Shaw played Petunia Dursley in the Harry Potter films. Dillane appeared in Fear the Walking Dead and Urchin. These are earlier credits, not clues to which characters they play in this adaptation.
