Marvel still has Avengers: Doomsday cast members it has not announced. Anthony Russo confirmed that the ensemble is so large that he sometimes forgets which names are public and which ones are still being kept quiet.
He did not identify the missing actors, so the comment is not confirmation for every popular rumor. Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine and Tom Holland’s Spider-Man remain unannounced, no matter how often fans place them on speculative cast lists.
Who has Marvel already announced?
The public cast already spans several corners of the MCU. Robert Downey Jr. is Doctor Doom. Chris Hemsworth, Chris Evans, Anthony Mackie, Paul Rudd, Simu Liu, Tom Hiddleston, and Hayley Atwell are among the returning names.
The Fantastic Four are represented by Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach. Florence Pugh, Sebastian Stan, Wyatt Russell, David Harbour, Hannah John-Kamen, and Lewis Pullman bring in the New Avengers side of the story. Letitia Wright, Winston Duke, and Tenoch Huerta Mejía connect Wakanda and Talokan, while several actors from the earlier X-Men films are also returning.
Which rumored names are still unconfirmed?
The loudest guesses remain Tom Holland and Hugh Jackman. Neither actor appears on Marvel’s announced list. The same warning applies to characters fans expect because of the multiverse: a theory, leaked-looking graphic, or convention rumor does not become casting news until Marvel or the production confirms it.
Russo’s answer does confirm that at least some surprises are left. It does not say how large those roles are. An unannounced actor could be central to the story, appear for one sequence, or be saved for a post-credit scene.
Why keep more names hidden this late?
The movie is still being finished, and Marvel can promote the confirmed teams without giving away every crossover. Keeping a few actors out of trailers and cast graphics also protects scenes that would reveal where the story goes after Doctor Doom brings these worlds together.
