The story of High Tides is moving from television to a film. Netflix says production has begun on High Tides: The Film, with Pommelien Thijs returning as Louise after the series’ third and final season.
Filming is taking place in Belgium, France and Thailand. Netflix expects the film to arrive worldwide in 2027, but it has not announced an exact date. The film is not available to stream yet.
What happens to Louise?
The film begins after Louise has spent time traveling and searching for herself. When she comes back to Knokke, the friends who stayed behind have built a new balance without her. Netflix says her return changes that situation, though it has not revealed the full plot.
Who is coming back?
Thijs is joined by Willem De Schryver, Nola Elvis Kemper, Ayana Doucouré, Kes Bakker, Jef Hellemans and Daan Schuurmans. De Schryver plays Alex in the series. Netflix has not detailed what every returning character will do in the film.
The movie follows a three-season series, not a newly announced fourth season. Netflix called Season 3 the final season earlier this year. The existing show is listed with three seasons on Netflix in the US. The new film will continue Louise’s story in a different format.
Dingie is producing the film for Netflix with Dutch FilmWorks and support from VRT. Netflix has not announced a day or month for its expected 2027 release.
