Prime Video has finally put a date on Maxton Hall’s last chapter. Season 3 of Maxton Hall — The World Between Us premieres on December 9, 2026, and the first new look arrives on September 3. The six-episode season brings Ruby Bell and James Beaufort back for the final part of their story.

The German series is based on Mona Kasten’s Save Us, the third novel in the trilogy that began with Save Me. Harriet Herbig-Matten and Damian Hardung return as Ruby and James, while UFA Fiction continues to produce the show for Prime Video.

When does Maxton Hall Season 3 come out?

Maxton Hall Season 3 starts streaming on December 9, 2026, exclusively on Prime Video. Amazon’s updated listing describes the season as six episodes and says it will be available worldwide in more than 240 countries and regions. The first two seasons are already available for anyone who needs a refresher before the final run.

Prime Video has not yet announced an episode-by-episode release schedule. The date confirms when the season begins, but it does not say whether all six episodes will arrive together or roll out weekly.

The first new look arrives on September 3

The release-date announcement came with a teaser poster, but Prime Video is saving the first proper sneak peek for September 3. That should give viewers a better idea of how the show is handling the fallout from Season 2 without revealing the whole ending months early.

There is still no full trailer date, runtime information, or detailed episode guide. For now, September 3 is the next firm date for new footage.

Ruby’s Oxford dream is in danger

Season 3 starts with Ruby suspended from Maxton Hall College. Her dream of studying at Oxford is suddenly at risk, and she has to clear her name while the pressure around her keeps growing. James is beside her, but helping Ruby also puts him back in the middle of the school’s secrets and the Beaufort family’s problems.

The official synopsis frames the season around a choice for Ruby and James: hold on to their relationship or let go. That is a more specific problem than another general promise of “drama.” Ruby has an immediate academic crisis, while the couple has to decide how much of their future can survive the fallout.

Who is returning for the final season?

Harriet Herbig-Matten and Damian Hardung lead the returning cast as Ruby and James. Sonja Weißer is back as Lydia, Eidin Jalali returns as Graham, Ben Felipe plays Cyril, Fedja van Huêt plays Mortimer, and Runa Greiner returns as Ember.

The wider returning cast includes Justus Riesner as Alistair, Govinda Gabriel as Kesh, Andrea Guo as Lin, Frederic Balonier as Kieran, Eli Riccardi as Elaine, and Dagny Dewath as Ophelia. Prime Video and UFA have not announced a major new cast member for Season 3.

Season 3 adapts the final book

The season is based on Save Us, the third book in Mona Kasten’s bestselling trilogy. That gives the television adaptation a clear endpoint instead of leaving the Ruby-and-James story open for another renewal. The first season adapted Save Me, and Season 2 followed Save You.

Martin Schreier returns as director. Sandra Stöckmann and Ceylan Yildirim are the head writers, with Catharina Junk, Marlene Melchior, and Aylin Kockler also writing episodes. Ceylan Yildirim, Markus Brunnemann, and Eike Adler executive produce, with Valentin Debler as producer.

Is Season 3 really the end of Maxton Hall?

Yes. Prime Video and UFA describe Season 3 as the final season, and it covers the last book in Kasten’s trilogy. That does not rule out a future spin-off or another story in the same world, but no such project has been announced. The confirmed plan is to finish Ruby and James’ story in six episodes.

Prime Video also calls Maxton Hall its most successful international scripted Original series. That is the streamer’s own description, but the decision to bring the adaptation to a planned three-season ending gives the final run a clear shape instead of stretching the romance indefinitely.

What still needs to be announced?

The next update should answer the practical questions fans have been asking: when the full trailer will arrive, whether the six episodes release together, and how long the finale will be. Prime Video has confirmed the date and the September 3 sneak peek, but it has not published a complete episode schedule or detailed character guide.

While waiting, readers can catch up with our coverage of My Life With the Walter Boys Season 3, another young-adult drama that has been drawing a large streaming audience. Maxton Hall’s final season has a different setting and tone, but both shows put young relationships under pressure from family expectations and school life.

December 9 is now the finish line for Maxton Hall. Ruby has a suspension to overturn, James has his own family mess to face, and the September 3 sneak peek should show how close the final season is willing to get to the ending.
