Kingdom Rush 6: Genesis TD is scheduled to release on September 24. Ironhide’s next tower-defense game takes the series back to the Kingdom’s early days. The Steam listing names Windows and Mac, and it is still showing a countdown at the time of writing. If you are waiting to buy it, check that page for the exact unlock time in your region rather than assuming it is already playable everywhere.
The main setup will be familiar to Kingdom Rush fans: enemies move along a path, and you build towers to stop them. The new part is how many choices you can take into each fight. Ironhide says the game has 15 towers, 12 heroes and nine spells. You can use two heroes in a stage, which gives you another way to deal with a tough wave before it reaches the exit.
What is in the campaign?
The campaign has 18 stages across three landscapes. Ironhide also lists more than 40 enemy types and six bosses. Those numbers describe the launch game, not a promise of future updates. The official screenshots show bright forest paths, icy maps and darker areas with different places to build towers. They also show the small character and enemy details that help you read a busy screen.
You will still need to decide where a tower is most useful. Putting damage near a bend can give it longer to attack. A hero can help hold a lane when too many enemies arrive at once. Spells give you a way to react when your original plan is not enough. The game’s appeal is in making those choices quickly, then changing them after you see what each wave does.
What is Classic Rush mode?
Ironhide also advertises Classic Rush mode alongside the campaign. It is described as a return to a more traditional Kingdom Rush style. That gives long-time players something separate to try after learning the new heroes and spells. The developer has not said that this mode replaces the main campaign, so treat it as an additional way to play.
This is a single-player strategy game. Steam lists Windows and Mac support; the store page is also where local price, language options and system requirements will appear. Ironhide has discussed mobile versions, but release timing and availability on phone stores should be checked separately.
