Why do Kang Han and Song-yi enter the competition?
Kang Han becomes Familia’s head chef after working at restaurants abroad. Choi Song-yi runs the dining room, but her father’s damaged reputation and the restaurant’s future push her towards the kitchen. She wants to clear his name and keep Familia going.
Song-yi trains with Kang Han as a sous-chef, his second in command in the kitchen, and enters the contest. That gives the story two connected goals: making it through the competition and protecting the restaurant. Kang Han brings experience; Song-yi has a personal reason to learn.
Who plays the main characters?
Ahn Hyo-seop plays Kang Han, and Hong Hwa-yeon plays Choi Song-yi. The main cast also includes Chang Ryul as Cha Woo-jin and Eugene Jung as Seon Jeong-won.
Cha Woo-jin is a chef who expects perfection and sees Kang Han as a rival. Seon Jeong-won is the television producer running the contest, so her role is to organise the competition and work with the chefs taking part. Kim Do-hoon wrote and directed the drama.
