DTF St. Louis won Outstanding Limited or Anthology Series at the 78th Emmy Awards, completing a seven-award run for the HBO Max drama. The Television Academy now lists the show with 13 nominations and seven Emmys for its single seven-episode season.
The top-category result followed wins for writing, directing, supporting actor, supporting actress, cinematography and picture editing. That range makes the series victory the completion of a broad sweep across performance, storytelling and production rather than an isolated final award.
DTF St. Louis finished the Emmys with seven awards
Steven Conrad won both Outstanding Writing and Outstanding Directing for the limited-series season. David Harbour won supporting actor for playing Floyd Smernitch, while Linda Cardellini won supporting actress for Carol Love-Smernitch.
The show also received the cinematography Emmy for James Whitaker’s work on the episode Cornhole and the picture-editing award for Kevin D. Ross and Max Koepke on No One’s Normal. It Just Looks That Way From Across The Street. Outstanding Limited or Anthology Series became the seventh win on the Academy’s updated record.
Not every nomination converted into a trophy. Jason Bateman and Richard Jenkins were also nominated in the supporting-actor field, and Joy Sunday was nominated for supporting actress. The complete record therefore reflects seven wins from 13 nominations, not a clean sweep of every category.
Steven Conrad won for both writing and directing
Conrad created the series and served as writer, director and showrunner. Winning both individual creative categories gave the season a single recognized authorial center before its producers received the top program award.
The limited-series Emmy is shared by the credited producing team, which includes executive producers Conrad, Jason Bateman, David Harbour, Michael Costigan, KC Wenson, Todd Black, Molly Allen, Jason Blumenthal, Steve Tisch, Bruce Terris, Jennifer Scher, Michael Nelson and James Lasdun, plus co-executive producer Taylor Latham and producer Christina M. Fitzgerald.
The series won from a five-show field
DTF St. Louis was nominated alongside All Her Fault, The Beast in Me, Beef and Love Story: John F. Kennedy Jr. & Carolyn Bessette. The Beast in Me still left the ceremony with Matthew Rhys’s lead-actor win, but DTF St. Louis collected the program award and both supporting-acting trophies.
The result also separated the top limited-series race from the individual lead categories. DTF St. Louis did not need a lead-actor or lead-actress nomination to win the program Emmy; its acting recognition came from the ensemble’s supporting fields. The program award recognizes the completed season as a whole.
Where to watch DTF St. Louis
The complete seven-episode series is available on HBO Max. It premiered on HBO and the streaming service on March 1, 2026, released weekly and concluded April 12. HBO describes the story as a love triangle among three adults dealing with middle-age malaise that ends with one of them dead.
Bateman, Harbour and Cardellini lead the central triangle. The supporting cast includes Jenkins, Sunday, Arlan Ruf, Peter Sarsgaard and Chris Perfetti. Because HBO presented it as a limited series and the full run has ended, the Emmy-winning story can be watched as one completed season.
