Catherine Zeta-Jones says she helped change The Price You Pay’s male lead into Jackie Price for Kill Jackie.
When I read The Price You Pay, the lead character was a man.
In a September 30 AARP interview, Zeta-Jones said the change gave her room to add ideas as an executive producer. She helped move the story from America to Wales, add Welsh details and tie a story thread to her hometown. She uses her Welsh accent for the role, she said.
Jackie has spent 20 years selling fine art while trying to keep her past as an international drug smuggler hidden. When the Seven Demons, a team of hired killers, are sent after her, she decides to take them down first.
The eight-episode series adapts The Price You Pay, written by Nick Harkaway under the pen name Aidan Truhen. Tom Butterworth is the writer and showrunner, and Damon Thomas is the lead director, AMC says.
Fremantle lists Daniel Ings as Sam, Óscar Jaenada as Zigor, Darci Shaw as Gwen and Ron Perlman as Sean Senior in the series cast.
