Jermaine Fowler’s Barbershop series has a release date: February 10, 2027, on Prime Video. Fowler plays Travis “Trav” Walker, who returns to Chicago hoping to keep his grandfather’s legacy alive at Calvin’s barbershop.
Trav comes back to a shop and a city that have changed. The comedy follows him as he tries to find his place among a new group of barbers and returning customers. It draws on the film franchise but introduces a new central character and cast.
Who joins Jermaine Fowler?
The main cast includes Brett Gray, Punkie Johnson, Roy Wood Jr., E.J. Bonilla, Bresha Webb, Bokeem Woodbine, Tiana Okoye and Langston Kerman. The first group photo shows Wood, Johnson, Gray and Bonilla together inside the shop.
Guest stars include Zack Fox, Ego Nwodim, Diallo Riddle, Ziwe, Tituss Burgess, comedian CP, Devon Walker and Belmont Cameli. These are guest appearances, not additions to the main cast list.
How will the series launch?
All eight episodes will arrive on the same day. Prime Video has announced the series for more than 240 countries and territories. It is an upcoming release, not a show available to watch now.
Marshall Todd, who co-wrote the original Barbershop film, and Max Searle are co-showrunners. Fowler also executive produces, and Oz Rodriguez directs and executive produces.
