What time does BOMBANANA release?

Steam’s current release timestamp resolves to 13:00 UTC on September 2. That is 6:00 a.m. Pacific, 8:00 a.m. Central, 9:00 a.m. Eastern, 2:00 p.m. in the United Kingdom, and 3:00 p.m. in Central Europe. The conversions use the daylight-saving offsets in effect on the release date.

This is a global Steam unlock rather than a local-midnight rollout. The countdown can still change before release, so the live Steam page remains the final authority if Lefto Studio or Valve adjusts the build.

How much does BOMBANANA cost?

The price is not announced. Steam marks BOMBANANA as a paid game, but the listing does not yet display a dollar amount, preorder price, launch discount, or regional pricing table. Any specific figure circulating before the store unlock is therefore an estimate, not an official price.

The returning demo is separate from the full paid game. Lefto Studio says the demo will come back at launch with the same amount of content it previously offered plus a couple of new additions, but it has not published the final download instructions or launch-hour availability.

Can you play BOMBANANA with two or four players?

No. The official description says the team must contain exactly three monkeys — no more and no fewer. There is no announced solo mode, AI teammate, two-player scaling, local split-screen option, or four-player expansion.

You do not necessarily need two Steam friends ready before opening the game. Lefto Studio says the launch build includes public lobby and server browsers, plus room codes that let players join without first adding one another on Steam. A complete team still needs three people once the session begins.

BOMBANANA roles explained: Blind, Mute, and Deaf Monkey

  • Blind Monkey: can touch and operate the bomb but cannot see its colors or read its screens, so the other players must interpret what is happening.
  • Mute Monkey: is the only player who can read the bomb-defusal manual but cannot speak the instructions aloud.
  • Deaf Monkey: can see the bomb and watch teammates gesture but cannot hear their voice communication.

No role holds the complete solution. The Blind Monkey handles modules, the Mute Monkey decodes the rules, and the Deaf Monkey sees teammates and the bomb without hearing them. Pointing, gestures, timing, and improvised signals are part of the puzzle rather than optional presentation.

What are the three BOMBANANA modes?

  • Campaign: 30 handcrafted levels that introduce harder bombs and situations as the team progresses.
  • Endless: procedurally generated, wave-based levels that continue increasing in difficulty.
  • Custom: player-made challenges with adjustable bomb difficulty, explosion timers, module types, environmental hazards, and allowed mistakes.

Campaign is the structured starting point, Endless is the repeatable survival option, and Custom is the rules laboratory. Lefto Studio has not announced a competitive mode or a separate story length beyond the 30 campaign levels.

What was added for the full launch?

The launch build adds 14 puzzle modules: 11 standard modules and three Chaos modules designed to keep the Blind Monkey occupied. It also introduces 16 achievements and an airplane environment with its own objects and interactions.

Environmental hazards can interrupt communication through power outages, loud noises, and dangerous objects. Players can also interact with scenery, use an emote wheel and hand gestures, slap one another, randomize roles in the lobby, and see monkey mouths move in sync with voice chat.

How do public lobbies and room codes work?

Lefto Studio promises a global lobby browser for discovering public rooms and a server browser for joining players around the world. Room codes provide a direct route into a session without requiring everyone to exchange Steam friend requests first.

The announcement does not describe skill filters, region selection, host migration, moderation controls, or what happens when one monkey disconnects. Those details should be tested in the live build rather than assumed from the existence of a browser.

Is the BOMBANANA demo coming back?

Yes. Lefto Studio removed the demo on August 20 so the small team could test full-game features, then confirmed that it will return when BOMBANANA launches. The returning version is supposed to retain the previous amount of content and add a couple of new things.

The developer has not said whether old demo progress carries over, whether demo players can join owners of the full game, or exactly when the demo button will reappear. Treat those points as unannounced until the live Steam listing answers them.

Is BOMBANANA on PC, Mac, console, or Steam Deck?

The confirmed launch platforms are Windows PC and macOS through Steam. The store does not list Linux, PlayStation, Xbox, or Nintendo versions, and Lefto Studio has not announced console ports.

Steam Deck support is not confirmed. The Windows build may run through Proton, but the absence of a Linux version and a published Valve compatibility rating means buyers should not treat handheld support as guaranteed before launch testing.

BOMBANANA PC and Mac requirements

  • Windows minimum: Windows 10/11 64-bit, Core i3-6100 or Ryzen 3 1200, 8 GB RAM, Intel HD 520 or Radeon Vega 3-class graphics, broadband, and 300 MB storage.
  • Windows recommended: Core i5-8400 or Ryzen 5 2600, 16 GB RAM, Iris Xe, GTX 1050, or RX 560-class graphics, broadband, and 300 MB storage.
  • Mac minimum: macOS 11 Big Sur, Apple M1 or a sixth-generation Core i3, 4 GB RAM, integrated M1 or Iris Plus 640-class graphics, broadband, and 600 MB storage.
  • Mac recommended: macOS 12 Monterey, Apple M1 Pro/M2 or an eighth-generation Core i5, 8 GB RAM, broadband, and 600 MB storage.

These are the current official store requirements and can still change when the release build goes live. Broadband is listed because BOMBANANA is an online co-op game.

Controller and accessibility options

Steam lists full controller support, Steam Input, DualShock and DualSense support, keyboard-only and mouse-only options, save-anytime support, and interfaces playable without timed input. Lefto Studio also says launch colors and UI were adapted for two types of color blindness.

Those options do not remove the central countdown from bomb-defusal sessions. They describe supported controls and interface accommodations, while the team’s communication and timing remain core parts of the game.

Why BOMBANANA is drawing attention

Lefto Studio announced one million Steam wishlists in August after reporting more than six million demo players. Those are developer-reported milestones, not sales figures, but they show unusually high prelaunch reach for a small three-player co-op puzzle game.

What remains unannounced?

  • Price and launch discount: no official amount or discount is displayed yet.
  • Console and Linux versions: none have been announced.
  • Steam Deck rating: Valve has not published a compatibility result.
  • Demo compatibility: progress transfer and mixed demo/full-game lobbies are not explained.
  • Post-launch roadmap: Lefto Studio says more improvements and content are planned but has not guaranteed dates or a complete feature list.
