Black Ops 7 Season 5 is live now, and it is a full-season update rather than a small playlist swap. The launch adds three Multiplayer maps, a new Zombies Survival map, a major Verdansk location, two free Battle Pass weapons, fresh modes, Ranked rewards, and a limited period when Endgame remains free to play.

Season 5 launched on July 23 across the platforms that support Black Ops 7 and Warzone. Some features are already available, while Turbo Tilt, Cranked Moshpit, the Rex Infernus Zombies map, and other additions are being saved for the mid-season update.

What is included in Black Ops 7 Season 5?

Here is the short version of what players can jump into during Season 5:

  • Multiplayer: Jubilee, Frequency, and Dig at launch, followed by Turbo Tilt and a new Freerun map in the mid-season update.
  • Zombies: Eidskallen Lighthouse, Kowakujō Directed Mode and Starting Room, Astra Malorum Rogue Run playlists, and the upcoming Rex Infernus round-based map.
  • Warzone: Drone Labs in Verdansk, Lockdown Casual, Heavy Metal Heroes, Juggernaut Armor, airborne Supply Drones, and a new Resurgence Ranked season.
  • Weapons: FG42 and Gremlin through free Battle Pass pages, with the Mammoth LMG and Mace arriving through seasonal activities.
  • Endgame: Burn Run and Exotic Ability Boosts, with free access continuing until Season 5 ends.

New Multiplayer maps bring back two Black Ops favorites

The new launch map is Jubilee, a medium-sized 6v6 battlefield built around a rural Japanese festival. The main street supports longer sightlines, while the garden, museum, pachinko room, and side routes give aggressive players plenty of ways to close the distance.

Frequency returns from Black Ops 4 as a remastered medium-sized map. Its circular central route, interior server rooms, exposed catwalks, and lower maintenance area should feel familiar, but Black Ops 7 movement creates new wall-jump angles.

Dig is the older callback. The compact archaeological site first appeared in Black Ops 2 and returns with narrow paths, pits, sightlines across exposed ruins, and plenty of room for ambushes. Players revisiting that era can also read our Black Ops 2 Zombies maps and DLC guide.

Later in the season, Turbo Tilt turns a giant Nuketown pinball machine into a small 6v6 and 2v2 map. A separate Freerun course will focus on movement challenges rather than a normal firefight.

The new modes reward constant action

Overdrive Domination keeps the familiar capture-and-defend structure but adds Operator upgrades as players contribute to the objective. Gauntlet Rush rotates through five modes during the same match, switching every two minutes and rewarding players who keep fighting instead of slowing down.

Cranked Moshpit arrives in the mid-season update. Scoring an elimination activates a timer and grants movement and reload bonuses. Let the timer reach zero and your Operator explodes, so the mode pushes everyone toward the next fight.

Ranked Play also gets a new seasonal reward track. Frequency, Vertigo, Blackheart, Exposure, Colossus, and Scar join different parts of the Ranked map pool, while win totals and Skill Divisions unlock blueprints, calling cards, and weapon camos.

Zombies gets Eidskallen Lighthouse now and Rex Infernus later

Eidskallen Lighthouse is the main launch addition for Zombies. It uses a confined part of Totenreich, with Pack-a-Punch at the lighthouse and the usual survival tools spread across Beacon Island. Round milestones award an animated emblem at Round 10, a weapon charm at Round 25, and a GobbleGum plus XP at Round 50.

Kowakujō now has Directed Mode, which adds on-screen Main Quest guidance and caps rounds at 15. Starting Room locks the squad inside the Outer Ward and turns the opening area into a survival challenge with limited resources.

Astra Malorum also joins Rogue Run through three difficulty playlists. The bigger event comes mid-season: Rex Infernus is a new round-based map built around the final fight with the Warden. Widow’s Wine, the Fully Packed GobbleGum, the Olympia shotgun, and the TR2 marksman rifle are also scheduled to return with that update.

Warzone adds Drone Labs to Verdansk

Drone Labs sits east of TV Station and south of Quarry. The new point of interest has two L-shaped buildings connected by a skybridge and zipline, with offices, research rooms, rooftop positions, and a drone obstacle course nearby.

The location is tied directly to new gameplay. Supply Drones can be shot down for loot, and a rare armed JLTV is locked inside a garage. Players need to find the access codes before they can take the vehicle.

Lockdown Casual is a 12v12 mode designed around repeated fights for zones at Drone Labs. Heavy Metal Heroes takes a much larger 50v50 approach, using armed vehicles, faster redeploys, extra respawn tokens, and movement abilities such as Flicker, Kinetic Jump, and the Grappling Hook.

Season 5 also introduces Juggernaut Armor, airborne Buy Stations, Hunter Killer Drones, and another Resurgence Ranked season across Rebirth Island, Fortune’s Keep, and Haven’s Hollow.

How to unlock the new Season 5 weapons

The two launch weapons are free base-weapon rewards inside the Battle Pass:

  • FG42 assault rifle: earned from the Page 3 completion reward. It is designed as a hard-hitting automatic rifle with manageable recoil, slower handling, and a short open-bolt delay.
  • Gremlin SMG: earned from the Page 6 completion reward. It is a dual-wield weapon with strong mobility and hip-fire accuracy, but it cannot aim down sights and loses effectiveness at longer ranges.

The Mammoth LMG is an in-season event reward, while the Mace melee weapon comes through Weekly Challenges. Players who want every gameplay item should focus on the free weapon pages and seasonal challenges before spending COD Points on cosmetic rewards.

How much does the Season 5 Battle Pass cost?

The premium Battle Pass costs 1,100 COD Points. The 2,400 COD Point bundle includes 20 Tokens for a faster start. The full pass contains more than 100 rewards, with Spectre available from the instant-reward page and the free FG42 and Gremlin placed on Pages 3 and 6.

BlackCell is a separate premium upgrade built around Cipher, exclusive skins, blueprints, and additional variants unlocked through challenges. It is optional; players do not need BlackCell to claim the free base weapons.

Endgame is free only until Season 5 ends

Season 5 is the last season when Endgame remains accessible through Warzone for free. Once Season 6 begins, Endgame will be removed from the Warzone menu and will require ownership of Black Ops 7.

The new Burn Run Assignment gives players a bomb-rigged vehicle and asks them to race through 30 burning arches before time expires. Exotic Ability Boosts can also enhance equipped abilities with effects such as shorter cooldowns, extra ammo, and added damage types. They are mainly found in Nightmare areas, with a smaller chance to appear in Zone IV.

What should you do first in Season 5?

Start by claiming progress toward the FG42 and Gremlin, then spend time in Jubilee, Frequency, and Dig while the launch playlists are busy. Zombies players should clear the Eidskallen milestone rewards and use Directed Mode if they still need help with the Kowakujō Main Quest.

Warzone players can learn Drone Labs through Lockdown Casual before taking the same routes into Battle Royale. Endgame players should use the free-access window now, especially if they do not own Black Ops 7 and want to try Burn Run or hunt for Exotic Ability Boosts.

Season 5 already has enough new material to change every major part of the game, but the Zombies finale and several Multiplayer additions are still ahead. We will update this page when the mid-season release date and final patch details are confirmed.
